Deputy Minister for Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, expressed her appreciation for legendary musician Michael Wong’s solo concert, “Lonely Planet 3.0,” held at Spike Airdome, PIK 2, North Jakarta, on Saturday (June 6).

According to Irene, the successful organization of an international concert demonstrates that Indonesia’s performing arts industry possesses the infrastructure and ecosystem necessary to compete on the global stage.
"The presence of a world-class international artist such as Michael Wong demonstrates the growing appeal of Indonesia’s entertainment industry in the eyes of the world, while also highlighting the increasing maturity and global competitiveness of the country’s performing arts ecosystem," said Irene Umar.
The concert featured an international-scale production through the “Lonely Planet” concept, brought to life with a grand stage design, captivating LED visuals, dramatic lighting arrangements, and an immersive sound system. Beyond providing a memorable entertainment experience for audiences, the event also showcased the capabilities of local creative professionals in supporting world-class performances while contributing to the growth of the national creative economy.

"The performing arts industry generates a tremendous multiplier effect in driving economic activity within communities. The success of an international-scale concert like this naturally creates new employment opportunities and stimulates related subsectors such as hospitality, culinary businesses, and MSMEs around the venue," Irene added.
Promoted by Color Asia Live, the concert was designed as a spectacular production at one of Jakarta’s newest indoor venues. Based on ticket sales data, enthusiasm among Mandopop fans was exceptionally high, with ticket prices ranging from IDR 850,000 to IDR 4,000,000 and selling out since the beginning of the year.

Michael Wong, widely known as the Prince of Mandopop Love Songs, is a legendary Malaysian singer with a large and loyal fan base in Indonesia. The concert atmosphere was both vibrant and nostalgic as thousands of attendees sang along to his hit songs, including “Fairy Tale (Tong Hua)” and “First Time (Di Yi Ci).”
