Strengthening regional talent is essential to helping local music reach broader markets and contribute more significantly to the national economy, Jakarta, October 14, 2026.

“Music is not only an expression of creativity but also has economic value that can create business opportunities and jobs. We want to ensure that regional music talent has opportunities to grow so that their work can reach broader markets and contribute to the growth of the national creative economy,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

To this end, the Deputy for Media Creativity and the Directorate of Music at the Ministry of Creative Economy organized a Creative Hub Activation program through Creative Acceleration (AKTIF) Musik: Music Industry Discussion and Local Musician Showcase at DIEU GEURA Arts and Community Space in Bogor City, West Java, on Sunday (11/10). The activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of regional music practitioners, expand their understanding of the industry, and provide a platform for local musicians to promote their work.

Deputy for Media Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in strengthening music business management.

“Developing the music ecosystem requires more than simply focusing on creating works; it also calls for stronger capacity among practitioners and sustainable business management. Through AKTIF Musik, we encourage collaboration among the government, communities, creative space managers, and industry players so that local musicians can turn their potential into economic opportunities,” said Cecep.

The interactive discussion, attended by 50 participants, featured four music industry experts: Dely Tambunan, a board member of REKA Bogor, who discussed mapping the potential of the local music scene; Ekki Soekarno, Founder of IDPFEST, who explored ways to optimize festivals; Yessi Kurniawan, Business Development Manager at 1Lisensi, who discussed commercialization and licensing for the use of creative works; and Aldo Sianturi, Founder of Kelas Bisnis Musik, who examined modern music business management.

Director of Music at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Mohammad Amin, explained that the activity was designed to connect industry knowledge with musicians’ career development needs.

“Through these discussions, musicians gain insights into managing their careers and music businesses more professionally. Meanwhile, the showcase gives them an opportunity to introduce their original works while building networks that can support their career development in the music industry,” said Mohammad Amin.

The program concluded with a showcase featuring five Bogor-based music groups representing different genres: Linages (indie rock), Eyeliner (alternative), Blizter (post-punk), Piknik (Britpop/indie), and TheDustyRusty (retro pop). Their performances demonstrated the richness and diversity of musical talent in Bogor City.

The Bogor City Government, represented by the Head of Tourism Marketing, acting on behalf of the Head of the Tourism and Culture Office, welcomed AKTIF Musik as part of efforts to develop the region’s creative potential.

“AKTIF Musik provides a collaborative space for music practitioners and various stakeholders to develop local potential. This synergy is expected to strengthen the music ecosystem while supporting tourism and creative economy development in Bogor City,” said a representative of the Bogor City Tourism and Culture Office.
