Creativillage WCCE 2026 Expands Promotion and Collaboration Opportunities for Indonesia’s Creative Economy

The 5th World Conference on Creative Economy

No: SP/WCCE/EN2/2026

Jakarta, 21 October 2026 – World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026 expands its impact through a creative economy exhibition titled Creativillage at SCBD, Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, opened the Creativillage event series which runs from October 21-25, 2026.

“Through Creativillage, we want to exhibit the best of Indonesia and show the world how amazing our creative industry players are. This is more than just an exhibition; it’s a way of showcasing hidden gems across the country while driving the nation’s economy,” stated Irene on Wednesday (October 21).

Following the opening, the Deputy Minister invited the international delegates on a tour through various innovations and artworks produced by Indonesian creators. The event itself embodies the theme “A Journey Through the Indonesian Creative Economy” which focuses on three main pillars: showcase, collaboration, and promotion.

These three pillars are realized through product exhibitions, brand activations, and interactive experiences that introduce works across various subsectors to the general public while bringing industry players together with potential investors and strategic partners. As a strategic platform, Creativillage aims to transform creative works into exposure, connections, market opportunities, and sustainable economic value.

In its implementation, Creativillage applies a hexahelix approach that integrates the roles of government, academicians, the business sector, communities, the media, and aggregators. This synergy is divided into three main zones: Village One, located at Ashta District 8; Village Two at MGP Space; and WCCE Weekland at SCBD Park.

Each zone provides direct economic benefits to the participating creative practitioners. One such beneficiary is FUGUKU, a local fashion brand based on unique handcrafted techniques that participated in Village One. Through an art installation at Creativillage, FUGUKU showcased wearable art made from recycled polyester using the “jumputan” technique, which involves approximately 70 female artisans in the Greater Jakarta area.

“We want to showcase FUGUKU’s colorful, cheerful, and playful character through this installation, while also introducing our approach to sustainable materials and handmade production processes. And for us, events like Creativillage provide a real platform to expand our brand’s reach,” said Rauf, Business Development Executive for FUGUKU.

A similar positive impact was felt by Rizky Nova, a local game developer from Surabaya behind “Running Train,” who leveraged Creativillage as a platform to validate his work and expand his industry network. Set in the archipelago and Japan, this semi-arcade train simulator game features photorealistic visuals to deliver an immersive train-driver experience.

“Being part of Creativillage allows our game to be tried out firsthand by visitors and international stakeholders. This opportunity is invaluable for gathering feedback, building public awareness, and opening up potential collaborations with global industry players,” said Rizky.

Many other creative economy practitioners are also involved, such as the Indonesian Graphic Design Association (ADGI) and the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI); fashion designers like Adrie Basuki, Amotyamsurimuda, and Poppy Dharsono; local brands such as Akisa, Boemi, and Bell Living Lab; and design studios like Floorstudio in Village One. Meanwhile, Village Two is home to 10 global and national industry partners, including Apple Academy, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), UniPin, Visinema, Tencent, and Shopee. This area features immersive technology activations, interactive games, and music showcases.

Additionally, WCCE Weekland, taking place October 24–25, 2026, combines a creative bazaar, art installations, music performances, and collaborative spaces for the community. In addition to running concurrently with the main WCCE conference on October 21–23, 2026, Creativillage is also part of the National Creative Economy Day celebrations on October 24, 2026. The Ministry of Creative Economy invites the public to attend and appreciate the works and innovations of creative practitioners, in line with the spirit of WCCE 2026: “Inclusively Creative: Collective Continuity.”

“The government is striving to bridge gaps so that the market opens up more widely, because Indonesia is not here just for Indonesia, but for a better world. Through this event, we hope to foster transactions, diplomacy, and collaboration,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.
