Deputy Minister Encourages TERASI to Expand Market Access for Local Illustrators

Jakarta, July 20, 2026 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy / Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, received a courtesy visit from local souvenir brand Sovlo, which collaborates with 60 illustrators to produce a wide range of creative products. The strategic meeting focused on advancing the craft and visual communication design (VCD) subsectors through the organization of TERASI (Teras Inspirasi) 2026.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar received a courtesy visit from local souvenir brand Sovlo at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Monday (July 20, 2026).

“TERASI serves as an excellent platform to bring together illustrators, business players, and the public within a single creative ecosystem. The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to collaborate with partners across the hexahelix ecosystem to strengthen TERASI, enabling more creative economy players—particularly those in the craft and illustration subsectors—to gain broader access to markets, networks, and collaboration opportunities,” said the Deputy Minister during the meeting at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Monday (July 20).

Sovlo is a local souvenir brand that provides a platform for Indonesian illustrators to create works inspired by the richness of the nation’s cultural heritage. These original illustrations are featured on a variety of creative products, including bags, apparel, accessories, and other lifestyle merchandise.

TERASI, meanwhile, is Sovlo’s annual event, presented as an art exhibition and creative marketplace that celebrates Indonesian culture through the works of dozens of local illustrators. In addition to the art market, the event features a variety of interactive programs, including artist collaborations, art installations, drawing competitions, workshops, traditional dance classes, immersive wall painting, live performances, interactive installations, creative talks, and many other creative activities.

Sovlo Marketing Manager Sarah Celina explained that TERASI was originally launched as the brand’s anniversary celebration before evolving into a collaborative platform for the creative community. This year, TERASI carries the theme “6row Together” to commemorate Sovlo’s sixth anniversary.

“TERASI was initially created as Sovlo’s anniversary celebration. This year, we are celebrating our sixth anniversary with the theme 6row Together because we believe Sovlo has grown this far thanks to the collaboration of illustrators, visitors, customers, and all of our creative partners. Through this year’s TERASI, we hope to continue growing together,” said Sarah.

TERASI 2026 is scheduled to take place from August 13–17, 2026, at Agora Mall, Jakarta. Open to the public with ticket prices starting from Rp10,000, the exhibition is expected to provide a platform for the public to appreciate Indonesia’s creative economy products. The meeting was also attended by Sovlo Founder Lidya Valensia, Co-Founders Afra Viena and Djohan, as well as Brand Activation Lead Arbianto.
