“For me, this is a great initiative by students. It can serve as an extension of their respective cities or villages. This festival is expected to become a platform for creating a creative trip to Tidore. A creative trip provides added value by encouraging people to visit, learn about, understand, and appreciate the region,” said Irene Umar during the audience at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta, Wednesday (29/7).

She added that the creative trip concept could serve as a new approach to strengthening region-based creative economies. Through authentic experiences, visitors can not only become acquainted with Tidore’s culture but also be encouraged to directly engage with creative economy practitioners while contributing to the growth of the local economy.

Carrying the theme “Tidore Menyapa Yogyakarta: Dari Negeri Rempah untuk Kota Budaya,” Toadore Festival Vol. III will take place on October 15–17, 2026, at the Amphitheater Teras Beskalan, Teras Malioboro 1, Yogyakarta. The series of activities will feature the National Creative Economy Seminar (Kalesang Kota), Nusantara Arts Stage, Gosip Kreatif Talk Show, and Pasar Panen UMKM Nusantara, which are designed as spaces for interaction and market expansion for regional creative economy products across sectors such as culinary, crafts, and fashion.

Steering Committee for the Creative Program of Toadore Festival Yogyakarta, Fando, explained that the festival has been held annually since 2023. Yogyakarta was selected as the venue due to its position as a cultural hub that brings together the diverse communities of the Nusantara.

“The event’s name is derived from the old Tidore language, Tuadore, which means ‘I have arrived.’ Through the theme Tidore Menyapa Yogyakarta: Dari Negeri Rempah untuk Kota Budaya, we aim to present Tidore culture as part of Indonesia’s diversity while introducing it to a wider audience,” said Fando.
