Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Encourages Young Generation to Bring Indonesian Works to the World through IdeaTalks 2026

Jakarta, September 4, 2026 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, expressed her appreciation for the organization of IdeaTalks 2026, themed From Creation to Creative Opportunity, as part of IdeaFest 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Jakarta. According to her, the collaboration between Indosat, Adobe, and IdeaFest with creative economy players demonstrates that the ideas and works of the younger generation can create an impact on society while driving the national economy.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, expressed her appreciation for the organization of IdeaTalks 2026, themed From Creation to Creative Opportunity, as part of IdeaFest 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Jakarta, Friday (4/9/2026).

“Indonesia’s younger generation has tremendous potential, as demonstrated by their ability to produce outstanding works across various creative economy subsectors. When internet infrastructure and the creator ecosystem are already available, supporting tools such as Adobe serve as an important solution to facilitate creativity and encourage collaboration in addressing various challenges. This collaboration aims to build purpose-driven businesses that are not only focused on transactions, but also deliver meaningful impact and value to consumers,” said Irene Umar, Friday (4/9).

To create a resilient and sustainable creative economy ecosystem, the Ministry of Creative Economy considers Intellectual Property (IP) a key foundation for driving growth in the creative economy sector. This commitment extends beyond registration and legal protection to include the commercialization and development of local IP so that it can generate greater economic value and compete in international markets.

In addition, developing human resources and optimizing technology through upskilling programs are important steps to enable domestic talents to compete globally. Digital connectivity provided by Indosat and infrastructure support from Adobe provide a strategic foundation for communities to exchange knowledge, expand networks, and open up new opportunities.

“I hope that my fellow creators will not focus only on the national local market of 240 million people, but also dare to target the eight billion people around the world so that Indonesian works can reach global audiences. Let us turn the situation around by advancing all regions of Indonesia through our nation’s uniqueness or Unique Selling Point, while continuing to create together. Hopefully, after this session ends, we can all learn from one another and start creating together,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

The Ministry of Creative Economy also encourages the works of artists and creative players not to stop at the appreciation stage, but to enter the commercial market. Therefore, broad market access and strategic partnerships with investors and industry players are important in connecting local creators with relevant stakeholders.

The event also featured an IdeaFest Panel Session on the creators’ journeys, a Canvas Bag Design Workshop, and Canvas Bag Printing. Around 250 participants comprising creators, creative communities, and creative ecosystem partners discussed how to develop creative works into sustainable economic opportunities through ecosystem acceleration, technological synergy, intellectual property protection, and expanded market access.

“Keep creating, show your work to the world, and understand its value. Do not stop at one point; continue to nurture your curiosity and explore new things that can open up unexpected opportunities. Most importantly, keep creating and enjoy the process,” said Adobe Creator Diela Maharani.

During the event, the Deputy Minister visited the booth installations to review the Cafe Express-O area (Adobe x Ekraf collaboration), Heart Installation, IOH Illustration by Sarkodit, Heartware Archives, Arcade Game, Cafe Seating Area, Adobe Express Experience Area, Stage, Storage, and Front of House (FOH).

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology Muhammad Neil El Himam and Director of Games Luat Sihombing.
