Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Explores Strengthening Local IP BaLiTa through Baba Lili Tata Run 2026

Jakarta, July 27, 2026 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, explored opportunities for strategic synergy with PT Karya Wilasa Nusantara (JPT Event Partner), the organizer of the Baba Lili Tata (BaLiTa) Family Market & Run event. The event, scheduled to take place from August 6–16, 2026, at Batavia PIK, is considered capable of integrating the sports, entertainment, and creative economy subsectors in reaching a wider audience.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with PT Karya Wilasa Nusantara (JPT Event Partner), the organizer of the Baba Lili Tata (BaLiTa) Family Market & Run event, at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta, Monday (27/7/2026).

“Events such as Baba Lili Tata Run demonstrate that the creative economy can be presented through experiences that are enjoyable, inclusive, and impactful for the public. Collaboration among organizers, communities, and creative economy practitioners needs to be continuously strengthened to create added value, both for participants and the creative economy ecosystem. Of course, the event taking place in August can be incorporated into the series of Independence Day celebrations, creating opportunities for collaboration,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy during a meeting at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Monday (27/7).

The Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to helping expand publicity for the event so that it can directly contribute to driving the national economy. This momentum is also considered strategic for encouraging the development and commercialization of Indonesian character Intellectual Property (IP), particularly the BaLiTa character, which currently has a base of more than 17.6 million subscribers on YouTube.

“We will explore opportunities for support according to the capacity of the Ministry of Creative Economy, particularly in terms of promotion and collaborative networks. We can also facilitate collaboration with supporting brands so that further activations or merchandise provision can be developed. Hopefully, more people will become familiar with this event while also creating opportunities for local creative works and products to be showcased,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.

PT Karya Wilasa Nusantara is a full-service event organizer established in 2016, with services ranging from IP character live shows and corporate events to brand launches. Previously, the Ministry of Creative Economy also supported Festival PikPak, which successfully boosted the competitiveness of local IP and was held from October 31 to November 2, 2025, at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.

“We want to present Indonesia’s first IP run event featuring Baba Lili Tata, inviting Indonesian families to enjoy better quality time, particularly through physical activities. In addition, there will be stage performances by communities and schools, including a singing competition. Several tenants from children’s brands will also open booths at the event. Support from the Ministry of Creative Economy would certainly mean a lot in helping with promotion and support from children’s communities to perform on stage,” explained Jessica, the project manager of the event.

Baba Lili Tata Run provides two family packages: one child and one accompanying adult, as well as one child and two accompanying adults. The available running categories are 1.5 kilometers (for children aged 3–5) and 3 kilometers (for children aged 6–12). Each activity point will feature games, while the entertainment stage is planned to feature poundfit and Zumba, kids’ competitions, art workshops, and talk shows, providing an enjoyable educational space for creative economy practitioners and local brands to showcase their creative works and products.
