According to Irene, IP development should not stop at the initial creative work, but can be broadened into diverse forms of creative experiences and products that provide added value to the creative economy ecosystem.
“From the very beginning when speaking with Mas Angga, the dream conveyed was how Indonesia could possess an IP that becomes evergreen and does not merely stop at a single type of creation. Today, we are witnessing how an Indonesian IP can be developed into new works and experiences that bring it closer to the public,”Irene Umar stated when attending the launch of the JUMBO x Discovery Ancol Hotel collaboration at Discovery Ancol Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (9/21).
Irene explained that IP development requires an ecosystem that connects creators with various growth opportunities.
“Our role is to open up the spaces so that creators can meet the right industry partners and markets. That way, Indonesian IP has the opportunity to thrive across multiple sectors,” Irene added.
Founder and CEO of Visinema Group, Angga Dwimas Sasongko, expressed that JUMBO was created as an effort to bring Indonesian stories that resonate closely with the public and possess a sustainable journey.

“JUMBO started from a dream to see Indonesian children grow up with stories from their own homeland, featuring characters and worlds that are close to their daily lives. To ensure that these stories continue to evolve, collaboration from various parties sharing the same vision is essential,” Angga said.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Marina Ancol Green Hotel, Peni Rahmawati, stated that Discovery Ancol Hotel presents the JUMBO experience through a hospitality approach by bringing elements of the film’s narrative into physical spaces.
“Through this collaboration, Discovery Ancol Hotel offers a stay experience with a thematic concept that brings JUMBO characters and visual elements into the hotel environment, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the story directly,” Peni said.
The JUMBO x Discovery Ancol Hotel collaboration presents 53 JUMBO-themed rooms on the 5th floor of Discovery Ancol Hotel. These rooms feature signature visual elements of JUMBO, ranging from hallway decorations to room interiors designed to mirror the world within the film.
In addition to thematic rooms, the JUMBO experience extends to various areas throughout the hotel, including the South Lobby Diorama showcasing Don’s Room, Oma’s Living Room, and Nurman’s Bicycle, as well as the Kampung Seruni area and Stage in the North Lobby. This experience is further complemented by various JUMBO-themed culinary menus as part of this collaborative lineup.
