The discussion of WCCE focused on four strategic issues that served as a solid foundation for drafting the Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy. These four issues consist of the utilization of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance human creativity, the implementation of circular and regenerative practices to support sustainability, the development of inclusive and community-empowering creative ecosystems, as well as intellectual property protection to ensure creators derive economic value that is fair and square.
“I expect this meeting to be a dialogue space for creative economy policy, a space for us to openly speak, exchange experiences, discuss regarding the global creative economy future and condition, as well as drafting together a step to bring Jakarta Vision to the next chapter. In the end, Jakarta Vision is not where our discussion ends. This vision shall be the foundation for our next steps,” the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated at the Kempinski Hotel in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/21).

Aside from being a space for policy dialogue, FCE Meeting 2026 also serves to open a broader opportunity for the stakeholders to strengthen the international collaboration and decide the next step after the end of WCCE. Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy is expected to be a foundation for creative economy strengthening in the global development agenda, which includes the attempt to encourage a further discussion at United Nations (UN) level.
Engaging 472 participants from 64 countries and seven international organizations, the FCE Meeting 2026 served as momentum to gather international support for the drafting of Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy. This support is expected to pave the way for submitting this document as a UN resolution, while positioning the creative economy as a priority program within the global development agenda post the conclusion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) period in 2030.
