Following the President's Directive, Ministry of Creative Economy Accelerates Three Flagship Programs to Strengthen the People's Economy

Jakarta, July 20, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is accelerating the implementation of its strategic programs during the second half of 2026. This initiative aims to strengthen Indonesia's economic structure by promoting a people-centered economy, advancing economic equity, and delivering inclusive prosperity for all.

This commitment comes in direct response to President Prabowo Subianto's directive during the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (July 20). Addressing members of the Red and White Cabinet, the President reaffirmed that Indonesia's national economic agenda must be firmly grounded in Articles 33 and 34 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.

"We are implementing the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, particularly Article 33, which states that the economy shall be organized as a common endeavor based on the principle of familyhood. This should not be regarded merely as a slogan or beautiful rhetoric," the President said.

The President also highlighted the government's single-gateway export policy designed to optimize Indonesia's foreign exchange earnings. The Ministry of Creative Economy views this macroeconomic policy as a strategic measure to encourage downstream industrial development while improving transparency in the export of products from the country's 21 creative economy subsectors to global markets.

"We are also establishing a single-gateway export system so that the state knows exactly what is being exported, to whom it is sold, its actual value, and how much foreign exchange should return to Indonesia. That is the objective," the President added.

In response to these strategic directives, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya, accompanied by Vice Minister Irene Umar, reaffirmed the Ministry's readiness to accelerate three flagship programs: Creative Village Activation, Creative Hub Activation, and Creative by Indonesia. These initiatives will be strengthened through government facilitation and enhanced institutional capacity at the regional level.

"The Ministry of Creative Economy remains committed to delivering programs that foster collaboration, consolidation, and acceleration to ensure that the creative economy continues to grow and delivers tangible benefits to the public as the new engine of growth. We will maximize every program to unleash the power of creativity and generate lasting value for Indonesia's creative ecosystem," said Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya.

The Ministry's optimism is supported by data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), which reflects the sector's strong performance. As of March 2026, creative economy exports accounted for 11.8 percent of Indonesia's total non-oil and gas exports, while realized investment reached IDR 61.33 trillion. These achievements have positioned the sector as a new driver of employment creation and national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.

"The success of creative economy governance should not be measured by the number of events or programs we organize, but by the tangible impact experienced by creative economy practitioners. Moving forward, we will remain focused on improving public welfare, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring that every policy and program delivers meaningful outcomes," the Minister added.

The mid-year 2026 Plenary Cabinet Meeting brought together members of the Red and White Cabinet to evaluate government performance and review key challenges that have been addressed. The meeting also highlighted several major achievements, including self-sufficiency in eight strategic food commodities, the establishment of the Danantara Sovereign Wealth Fund, the completion of 1,000 out of 5,000 planned village bridges, the opening of four Garuda Excellence Schools, the completion of the restructuring of 250 state-owned enterprises, and various other milestones achieved during the first two years of the Red and White Cabinet.
