Jakarta, August 17, 2026 – The government invites the public to experience the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia more deeply through an immersive show that presents a creative visual space. The combination of technology and creative works offers the public a different experience in enjoying stories about Indonesia across different eras.
Members of the public take photos at the immersive show in the Bundaran HI area, Jakarta, Monday (August 17, 2026).
The immersive show presented by the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is located at three points in the Monas area and three points around the HI Roundabout. The three interactive spaces at Monas carry the themes Pre-Independence, The Momentum of Independence, and The Spirit of the 81st Anniversary of Independence Toward Golden Indonesia 2025, featuring visualizations of National Priority Programs.
“What we want to present is not merely a technological installation. We want people to see the connection between themselves and Indonesia, their hopes for Indonesia’s future, and their pride in being part of this nation,” said Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, regarding the immersive show.
There is also a wishing wall featuring three main themes: “Me and Indonesia,” “My Hopes for Indonesia,” and “Proud to Be Indonesian.” The interactive experience also incorporates various elements, including interactive videos, an image generator, a time tunnel, the Garuda Totem, and LED strips.
Meanwhile, the immersive show at the HI Roundabout showcases various milestones of Indonesia’s Presidents along the pedestrian walkway at Kempinski, followed by a representation of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, and the Ruang Kreatif Indonesia at the Plaza Indonesia pedestrian area. Ruang Kreatif Indonesia represents Indonesia as a nation advancing through technology and the creativity of its younger generation, featuring interactive sensors that display different objects on the ceiling as people pass by.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, said that the main purpose of the immersive installation is to facilitate direct interaction between people at Monas, Indonesians abroad, and members of the public who wish to read the messages presented, so that they can serve as a source of shared inspiration and aspirations for the future.
“The immersive experience is presented through installations at Monas, such as the Wishing Wall and Portrait Indonesia, which have recorded more than 3,000 visitor interactions. Through the Wishing Wall, which carries the three themes of Me from Indonesia, Hopes for Indonesia, and Proud to Be Indonesian, people can share their messages and expressions of pride,” said Irene Umar.
One member of the public, Restu Budi Saputra, shared his positive impression of the immersive show. In his view, the creative ideas brought to life through the installation demonstrate Indonesia’s creativity.

“This immersive installation is quite interesting because, as members of the public, we can enjoy it while also celebrating the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence. Hopefully, it can become a platform for creative young people to express their ideas through this immersive installation,” said Restu.
