Indonesia Ready to Showcase Its Creative Economy Strength on the Global Stage at WCCE 2026

Jakarta, October 19, 2026 – Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) Teuku Riefky Harsya inspected preparations at the venues for the 2026 World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) at Hotel Indonesia (HI) Kempinski and Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), Jakarta. The inspection reaffirmed Indonesia’s readiness to bring its national event intellectual property (IP) to the global stage through cross-sector collaboration.

The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) inspected preparations for WCCE 2026 at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski and SCBD, Jakarta, Monday (October 19, 2026).

“Preparations for WCCE 2026 focus not only on ensuring the conference runs smoothly but also on creating productive spaces for collaboration throughout the event for the government, academics, investors, communities, creators, creative economy practitioners, and the media. We want to ensure that all venues are ready to facilitate meetings, exchanges of ideas, and opportunities for cross-border creative economy cooperation. We certainly hope that all the preparations we have made together will ensure the event runs smoothly and successfully,” Minister Riefky said on Monday (October 19).

WCCE 2026 is scheduled to take place over five days, from October 21–25, 2026. At HI Kempinski, the main agenda will include the Friends of Creative Economy and Ministerial Meeting in the Bali Room, Bilateral Meetings in the Palapi and Jati Rooms, Plenary Sessions in the Kempinski Grand Ballroom, as well as Creative Sessions and B2B Matchmaking at CGV Grand Indonesia.

Meanwhile, in the SCBD area, the inspection focused on the WCCE Creativillage concept. The locations included Ashta District 8 (Village One), which highlights the architecture, design, and fashion subsectors; MGP Space (Village Two), featuring interactive games, films, MSME products, community activations, and an automotive modification area; and Village Three, which serves as the center for WCCE Weekland, combining art performances, culinary offerings, and local creative products on October 24–25, 2026. Minister Riefky also inspected preparations for the Soul of Indonesia Welcoming Dinner at Akasta and the Diplomatic Dinner at Treasury 78.

“Preparations for WCCE 2026 reflect strong cross-sector collaboration, demonstrating how the spirit of creativity becomes increasingly tangible when Indonesia’s own event IP is brought to life through collective efforts. Hosting an international conference is a golden opportunity for Indonesia to showcase the strength of its creative economy to the world,” Minister Riefky said.

WCCE 2026 coincides with National Creative Economy Day on October 24, which is part of the OktoberKreasi movement. This momentum is being leveraged to activate regional creative ecosystems, expand access to global markets, and promote the creation of quality jobs in the creative sector. Guided by the theme “Inclusively Creative: Collective Continuity,” the forum is designed to turn local creativity into investment opportunities, strengthen intellectual property protection, and expand global supply chains for Indonesia’s creative economy practitioners.
