Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, delivers remarks during the Soft Launching of the Indonesia Application Summit (IN-APPS) 2026 at the Sinar Mas Land Experience Center, South Tangerang, Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
“IN-APPS 2026 is a national forum dedicated specifically to Indonesia’s application subsector. Through this platform, all stakeholders—including government institutions, industry players, developers, startups, investors, academia, associations, and communities—can build stronger and more focused collaboration,” said the Minister during the event at the Sinar Mas Land Experience Center, Tangerang Regency, Wednesday (July 8).
Carrying the theme “Application as the New Engine of Creative Economy Growth,” IN-APPS 2026 highlights the application subsector as one of the key drivers of Indonesia’s creative economy and serves as one of the lead-up events to the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026. The Minister emphasized that IN-APPS 2026 will become a collaborative platform to strengthen Indonesia’s digital application ecosystem.
In his presentation, the Minister highlighted the strong performance of Indonesia’s creative economy in 2025. Total investment in the creative economy reached IDR 183.01 trillion, representing a 32.23 percent increase compared to the previous year and exceeding the target set in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

Creative economy exports reached USD 31.94 billion, the highest level in the past five years, while the sector employed 27.4 million people, the majority of whom were young professionals. The creative economy’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth ranged between 6.01 and 6.94 percent, outperforming national GDP growth.
Among all creative economy subsectors, the application industry attracted the highest level of investment, totaling IDR 54.18 trillion. This achievement demonstrates that the application subsector has evolved beyond a supporting industry and has become one of the primary engines of Indonesia’s digital creative economy.
“IN-APPS 2026 demonstrates that digital applications are not merely technology products, but key drivers of innovation, greater competitiveness for creative economy players, new business opportunities, and broader market access. Today’s soft launching marks a strong starting point for new collaboration, innovation, and investment within the application subsector, while strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global digital economy,” the Minister explained.
Sharing the same perspective, Panji Himawan, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Operations Support at Sinar Mas Land, emphasized that cross-sector collaboration is the foundation for generating innovations that create tangible impacts on Indonesia’s creative economy. He highlighted the development of the Banten Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in BSD City as a collaborative hub that accelerates technology-based creative economy growth and positions Indonesia as a center for digital innovation.
