According to the Minister, JSD represents an adaptive space that has grown from the creative community. The festival demonstrates that collaboration is a fundamental pillar in building a creative economy ecosystem with a strong multiplier effect.
"When various creative economy subsectors come together within a single adaptive space, the impact is far greater—from creating shared audiences and improving promotional efficiency to opening export opportunities and strengthening the position of local brands as leaders in their own domestic market," said Minister Teuku Riefky during his visit to Nirmana Falatehan, South Jakarta, on Friday (31/7).
JSD Blok M Festival 2026 illustrates how public spaces can be optimized as hubs for creative economy activities. Through its multi-experience concept, various zones across the Blok M area integrate lifestyle, entertainment, and economic activities into a connected experience, creating added value for both visitors and creative economy players.

"The Ministry of Creative Economy hopes to see more innovations and collaborations like JSD Blok M Festival that provide opportunities for young people to showcase their work, strengthen networks, and develop creative businesses that are adaptive to changing consumer behavior. This is a form of creative economy that grows from the community while remaining competitive and accommodating collective movements," the Minister added.
The ecosystem strengthening demonstrated by JSD aligns with the positive performance of Indonesia's creative economy. According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the creative economy contributed IDR1,757.87 trillion to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2025, accounting for 7.38 percent of the national GDP. In addition, the sector employed 27.4 million workers, representing approximately 18.70 percent of Indonesia's total workforce.
Established in 2017, JSD has grown into Indonesia's longest-running and one of its most influential sneaker and streetwear events. It has consistently served as a platform that brings together diverse communities, cultures, and interests within a single creative ecosystem. This year, JSD Blok M Festival 2026 takes place from July 31 to August 2, serving as a tangible example of a collaborative festival that expands market reach while creating greater opportunities for local brands to grow in both national and international markets.
"JSD Blok M Festival was born from the spirit of celebrating Blok M as a gathering space for creative communities. That is why we invited various events, communities, and brands to collaborate within one festival, allowing visitors to enjoy a more complete experience while generating economic benefits for businesses in the area. The support from the Ministry of Creative Economy also provides great encouragement for us to continue creating a platform that celebrates Indonesia's creative economy," said Infia Corp CEO, Aji Pratomo.

This year's festival features more than 260 booths, with 75 percent representing Indonesian local brands. During the visit, Minister Teuku Riefky interacted with and reviewed several prominent local brands, including Cardinal, Clover, Eiger, HSF Eyewear, ISSHU, Kanky, Mars on Earth, Morteils, Nirmana, Othman, Parfumerie RATS, Weidenman Urban, White Noise, 910 NineTen, as well as several tenants launching their latest collections.
"We hope that more Indonesian local brands will receive government support to expand into international markets. Othman's success in introducing its products to Japan demonstrates that Indonesian creations are globally competitive. With government support and ecosystems such as JSD Blok M Festival, we are optimistic that Indonesia's fashion subsector will continue to grow as a driving force of the national creative economy," said Dimas Muhammad Rusydi, widely known as Dimboy, Founder of Othman.

These efforts are expected to broaden market access, enhance the competitiveness of national creative products, and reinforce the creative economy's role as a new engine of Indonesia's economic growth.
