Minister of Creative Economy: Creativity and Digital Economy Require a Secure Cyberspace

Jakarta, September 22, 2026 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, attended the Applied Bachelor's Graduation of the State Cyber and Code Polytechnic (Poltek SSN) Class of 2026 in Depok, West Java, Tuesday (9/22). In his scientific oration, the Minister of Creative Economy stated that cybersecurity is key to national economic growth.

"Kolaborasi ini menjadi pondasi penting agar transformasi digital ekonomi kreatif Indonesia berjalan tidak hanya cepat, tetapi juga aman dan terpercaya,” jelasnya.Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasizes the importance of cybersecurity in the creative economy ecosystem at the State Polytechnic of Cyber and Cryptography (Poltek SSN), Depok, Tuesday (22/9/2026).

This is because unprotected creativity can be stolen, unsecure data can be misused, and an industry that loses trust will ultimately lose its market and economic value potential.

“This is where the fundamental relationship between the creative economy and cybersecurity lies. As the creative economy becomes increasingly reliant on digital transactions, platforms, and infrastructure, cybersecurity ensures that all this economic value can be safely created, protected, and commercialized,” the Minister of Creative Economy stated.

The Minister of Creative Economy added that cybersecurity does not stand outside the economic system, but it became a part of the national development ecosystem. The Ministry of Creative Economy, together with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), has established strategic collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as part of the commitment to implement a hexahelix collaboration approach involving government, business sectors, academicians, financial institutions, media, and communities.

“This collaboration serves as an important foundation so that the digital transformation of Indonesia's creative economy proceeds not only rapidly, but also securely and reliably,” he explained.

On that occasion, the Minister of Creative Economy urged the graduates that they are entrusted with the mandate to safeguard Indonesia's digital space, protect the nation's data, and preserve the future of Indonesian creativity.

“There is no strong digital economy without strong digital security, and there is no future competitive creative economy without a secure and trusted cyberspace. Be the guardians of trust, protectors of creativity, and drivers of innovation,” he elaborated.

At the same location, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB), Rini Widyantini, stated that Poltek SSN graduates represent a new generation in the cyber and cryptographic field in Indonesia. Therefore, Rini advised the graduates to continuously master technology, understand the risks of cyberattacks, maintain integrity, and adapt to deliver a positive impact by providing a secure, resilient, and trusted governmental digital space.

“All of you here were not only prepared to secure today's government digital systems, but also to guard the government's digital transformation toward Indonesia Emas in the future,” she said.

Meanwhile, Head of BSSN Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.), Nugroho Sulistyo Budi, explained that in line with the directives of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, government digitalization is an absolute necessity.

“Behind digital transformation, behind the digital economy, there must be a strong foundation. That strong foundation is named cybersecurity, cryptography, and signals,” he emphasized.

Poltek SSN Class of 2026 graduated 95 Applied Bachelors of Computer Science across four study programs: Cybersecurity Engineering, Cryptographic System Engineering, Cryptographic Software Engineering, and Cryptographic Hardware Engineering.

“Be a formidable and impenetrable protective shield. Uphold the cryptographic ethos wherever you are assigned, the real journey has just begun,” the Director of Poltek SSN, First Admiral TNI Ir. Arnoldus Triono, advised.

“Jadilah perisai pelindung tangguh yang tak tertembus. Pegang teguh etos sandi dimanapun kalian ditempatkan, perjuangan baru dimulai,” pesan Direktur Poltek SSN, Laksamana Pertama TNI Ir. Arnoldus Triono.Photo: Bureau for Communication, Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency.
