Minister of Creative Economy Discusses Strengthening Creative Talent Development with Sahid University

Jakarta, July 14, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is accelerating the implementation of the Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) 2026–2045. As part of this effort, the Ministry discussed opportunities for strategic collaboration with Sahid University to accelerate the development of creative talent, startup incubation, and industry-focused research.

"Rindekraf 2026–2045 has been established as the national roadmap for creative economy development over the next 20 years. I believe Sahid University's expertise aligns well with various creative economy subsectors. This alignment provides a strong foundation for collaboration in strengthening talent development, research, and innovation within the creative economy," said Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, during a meeting with representatives of Sahid University at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Tuesday (July 14).

During the meeting, Sahid University presented six strategic collaboration proposals, including the establishment of a Campus Creative Hub and a Content Creator Scholarship program, the development of Creative Villages through research and community engagement, campus-based Hexahelix collaboration, creative startup incubation and acceleration, recognition of prior learning for creative economy practitioners through academic credit conversion, and socialization of the Business Identification Number (NIB) for content creators.

The two parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in organizing training programs, seminars, workshops, competitions, MSME mentoring initiatives, and research development to further strengthen the creative economy ecosystem.

In response, the Minister noted that several of the proposed initiatives are aligned with the Ministry's strategic priorities, particularly in the areas of Creative Villages, Creative Hubs, and creative talent development. He emphasized the need for immediate technical discussions to follow up on priority programs, including collaboration with content creator associations, creative startup incubation, and NIB outreach for content creators.

Rector of Sahid University, Giyatmi, expressed the university's readiness to support the development of Indonesia's creative economy through its academic capabilities.

"We believe there are many areas where Sahid University can contribute through collaboration. Wherever there is synergy with the creative economy, we are ready to support it through education, research, and community engagement to advance human resource development and contribute to the nation's progress," said Giyatmi.

Sahid University is a private higher education institution within the Sahid Group ecosystem, comprising six faculties and a Graduate School. During the meeting, the university also highlighted its commitment to nurturing creative talent through student entrepreneurship programs, campus-based creative industry initiatives, and the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme, which enables professional experience and creative works produced by creative economy practitioners to be converted into academic credits in accordance with applicable regulations.

In addition to discussing future collaboration, Sahid University invited the Minister of Creative Economy to serve as the keynote speaker at the International Conference on Community Development (ICCD), scheduled for October 14, 2026. Through this meeting, the Ministry of Creative Economy and Sahid University reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing technical follow-up discussions aimed at strengthening talent development, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship as integral components of Indonesia's creative economy ecosystem.
