“Every initiative should begin with data. Data serves as the foundation for formulating policies, regulations, and targeted strategies. Therefore, strengthening creative diaspora data is essential to expanding collaboration and opening global markets for Indonesia's creative economy products,” said the Minister of Creative Economy during the meeting at the Autograph Tower in Jakarta on Monday (August 3).
The Minister of Creative Economy emphasized that Indonesians who have established businesses abroad are strategic partners in strengthening the promotion of the nation's creative economy products. Their experience, international networks, and commitment to contributing to Indonesia's development are considered valuable assets for introducing Indonesian creative products to global markets.
“Let us identify quick wins that we can implement together immediately. The diaspora's commitment to building Indonesia is a tremendous asset. IDN Global's network can also serve as a strategic partner in introducing Indonesia's creative economy products to international markets,” the Minister said.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Creative Economy and IDN Global also discussed follow-up actions on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in November 2025. The collaboration focuses on strengthening creative diaspora data, leveraging diaspora networks to expand the marketing of creative economy products, and developing Diaspora Creative Hubs as showcases for Indonesia's creative products.

IDN Global President Nathalia Widjaja stated that the initiative to register 1,000 members of the creative diaspora as part of the collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy is progressing steadily. To date, approximately 200 members of the creative diaspora have been registered. The data collection process will be accelerated through data integration, the utilization of the Diaspora Card, the organization of webinars, and the establishment of a small task force to expedite collaborative initiatives.
“We want to connect Indonesians living abroad with creative economy practitioners at home so that promotion, marketing, and business collaboration can progress more rapidly through the networks we have built,” said Nathalia Widjaja.
