The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) officially launches Wonder Voice of Indonesia (WVI) 2026, a national talent search and development program for voice talent. Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasizes strengthening the voice-over ecosystem to help Indonesian talent reach global markets, Bandung, October 15, 2026.
“Through Wonder Voice of Indonesia 2026, we want to open up opportunities for more talent from various regions to develop their skills and connect with the industry,” said the Minister during the kick-off event at Telkom University, Bandung, West Java, Thursday (15/10).
Organized in collaboration with Voice Institute Indonesia and various educational institutions, the program attracted more than 250 participants, including university students and members of local communities. Through the launch of Wonder Voice of Indonesia 2026, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that more talent from across Indonesia will gain access to learning opportunities, skill development, and connections with industry players.
“From films, animation, and games to advertising and digital content, this industry offers significant and growing opportunities, both domestically and globally. The potential has already been demonstrated through Wonder Voice of Indonesia. I have received reports that its alumni have worked with more than 300 brands and generated a direct economic impact of over Rp2.5 billion,” said the Minister.
The Minister also emphasized that the government is strengthening the voice-over industry ecosystem by including voice-over as one of the 21 creative economy subsectors under the Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) 2026–2045, through Presidential Regulation No. 37 of 2026. This strengthened policy framework must be accompanied by concrete action to ensure that its benefits are directly experienced by creative practitioners.

“To that end, the Ministry of Creative Economy has introduced three flagship programs: Creative Village Activation, Creative Hub Activation, and Creative by Indonesia. These initiatives aim to explore regional potential, strengthen creative ecosystems, and encourage local intellectual property (IP) to compete and reach global markets,” Teuku Riefky explained.
Wonder Voice of Indonesia (WVI) was first held in 2022 as an initial step toward establishing a foundation for voice-over talent development in Indonesia. In 2023, the program expanded through a curriculum combining online and offline learning, the Road to WVI activities, radio drama production in collaboration with Radio Sonora, and the establishment of Voice People East Java, the first voice-over community formed following WVI.
In 2024, the WVI community expanded to Yogyakarta, Aceh, Bali, and Makassar, while its alumni generated economic impact through collaborations with more than 50 brands and institutions. The program achieved even more significant growth in 2025, attracting over 7,200 applicants and receiving coverage from more than 30 media outlets.
The community network continued to expand with the establishment of Voice People West Java, Jakarta, and North Sumatra, alongside the formation of the Indonesian Voice Actors Association (Aspesnesia). These achievements demonstrate how WVI has evolved from a talent development program into an ecosystem that creates collaboration opportunities and economic value for voice actors.
Euis Handayani, also known as Unya, the winner of Wonder Voice of Indonesia 2024, has since become a professional voice-over talent. She shared the many benefits she gained from participating in the collaborative program, particularly the opportunities it opened up for her career in the voice-over industry.

“The experience of participating in Wonder Voice of Indonesia is priceless. What we gain goes beyond experience; it also includes networking that can help us find opportunities to work in the creative industry. This program is a valuable opportunity for young people to deepen their knowledge and build connections within the creative industry,” said Unya, who is now pursuing a career as a mentor and voice director.
Enthusiasm among hundreds of Telkom University students was evident throughout the event. Eager to learn directly from voice-over experts, participants actively took part in the various challenges presented during the sessions.
“This program has been very insightful for me as a communication student. I also had the chance to take on a script-reading challenge from Mr. Bimo, which has further strengthened my interest in learning more about voice acting. Thank you to WVI and the Ministry of Creative Economy for this collaboration. We really need initiatives like this to help us sharpen our skills and develop our talents in the field of communication,” said Naufal, a Telkom University student who participated in the event.
