“We see ICCN as a strategic partner of the Ministry, because of the passion and commitment of its management, both at the national and regional levels. This reflects not only enthusiasm, but also an understanding that can be transformed into data,” said Teuku Riefky at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/9).

WCCE 2026 is scheduled to take place in Jakarta on October 21–23, 2026, under the theme Inclusively Creative: Collective Continuity. The international forum is expected to be attended by more than 8,000 participants from over 50 countries and aims to produce the strategic document Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy 2026.

As a concrete step, the Ministry of Creative Economy and ICCN are aligning a number of priority programs through the Road to WCCE series. The initiatives include the “Mendengar Suara Ekraf dari Daerah untuk Dunia” program, conducted in collaboration with TVRI at the regional, national, and international levels; the launch of Ekraf Academy; and the development of ICCN Island-Creative Village as a showcase for local collaboration, innovation, and creative narratives on the global stage. In addition, both parties are finalizing preparations for the 2026 Creative Economy Higher Education Consortium Symposium and the 2026 ICCN National Coordination Meeting in Jakarta.

“This cross-sector synergy demonstrates that the strength of the national creative economy can grow inclusively and sustainably when driven collectively. We believe that this strategic synergy will strengthen Indonesia’s position as a leading player in the global creative economy, starting with capacity building at the regional level and extending to the international stage through forums such as WCCE 2026,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

The meeting was an intensive follow-up to the cooperation established since March 21, 2025, and formalized through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on July 1, 2026. The collaboration applies a hexahelix approach integrating six elements—academia, associations, financial institutions, media, businesses, and government—as the main foundation for driving regional economic development and community welfare.

As an organization representing more than 254 Creative City and Creative Regency initiatives since 2015, ICCN has consistently referred to the 10 Creative City Principles. The network is committed to promoting creative city development based on principles of inclusivity, sustainability, and competitiveness, with an emphasis on cross-sector collaboration and strengthening regional capacity.

“ICCN supports the successful organization of WCCE to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem. Following this audience, we will also continue with a special session with the relevant deputies from the Ministry of Creative Economy. This session will discuss the technical follow-up to the collaboration to ensure that everything runs optimally,” said ICCN Chairman, Tubagus Fiki Chikara Satari.
