"We express our appreciation because the Monoplay ‘Kalau Bukan Aku,’ which addresses the issue of human trafficking and women's vulnerability through acting, must be voiced to draw the attention of all parties," the Minister of Creative Economy expressed after watching the performance held at Teater Kecil, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta, Friday (9/25).
Rahayu Saraswati's performance was part of the MonoPlay Festival 2026, which took place on September 22–25, 2026. The festival, supported by RANS, provided a space for exploring the art of acting through theater, film, and video performance, featuring main programs as well as the accompanying Lakon@cting program.
"The Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that more performing arts talents will continue to create, strengthen the performing arts ecosystem, and simultaneously convey relevant, strategic, and impactful issues for the broader public. We also wish to encourage the opening of opportunities for the development of national creative works and intellectual property (IP), so that they become increasingly recognized and deliver added value,” Teuku Riefky said.

In the festival, Rahayu Saraswati performed a solo theater act supported by Titimangsa and the National Network Against Human Trafficking (Jarnas APO). ‘Kalau Bukan Aku’ was packaged as a psychological thriller in five acts, presenting a woman's struggle against loss, intimidation, trauma, human trafficking, and the pursuit of justice. The story questions the boundary between justice and revenge when the law comes too late.
"The idea for the performance ‘Kalau Bukan Aku’ came from my concern over the reality of human trafficking, which I have been aware of since 2009. From there arose the desire to raise this issue through the medium of art that I love, while opening a space for voices that have rarely been heard," Rahayu Saraswati explained.
