Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, receives a courtesy visit from the National Association of Village Consultative Bodies (ABPEDNAS) at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta on Monday (August 3, 2026).
The Minister of Creative Economy explained that village development is one of the Government's priorities in line with the directive of President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen development from the village level. To achieve this objective, the Ministry of Creative Economy implements the Creative Village Development Program, which integrates cross-directorate interventions to accelerate the development of villages through the creative economy. The program is implemented in stages, covering villages classified as pioneering, productive, empowered, and independent, according to each village's potential across the 21 creative economy subsectors.
“All interventions by ministries and government agencies targeting villages need to be interconnected. Villages that already possess creative economy potential will be supported and developed collectively. This program not only benefits creative economy practitioners but also strengthens cultural preservation, enhances community capacity, and creates new economic opportunities in villages,” said the Minister.
During the meeting, both parties explored potential collaboration in curating creative villages, utilizing works produced through the Film Jaga Desa Program, and optimizing ABPEDNAS' network to support the mapping of village creative economy potential. The Creative Village Activation Program will assist villages through capacity building, product development, intellectual property facilitation, access to financing, marketing support, and technology adoption tailored to the unique characteristics of each village.

“We want to accelerate the development of villages that already have creative economy potential so that government interventions can be more targeted. Collaboration with ABPEDNAS is a strategic step to expand the reach of the Creative Village Program through the Village Consultative Body network that has been established across various regions,” the Minister concluded.
ABPEDNAS Secretary General Adhitya Yusma Perdana stated that the organization is ready to support the development of creative villages through its Village Consultative Body (BPD) network, which spans 37 provinces, 398 regencies and municipalities, and 25,191 villages. According to him, the network can be utilized to help identify and curate villages with creative economy potential while strengthening collaboration in implementing community empowerment programs.
“We are ready to become a partner of the Ministry of Creative Economy in identifying and curating villages with creative economy potential through our existing Village Consultative Body network. There is enormous potential that can be developed into creative economy activities, including transforming waste into value-added products, handicrafts, arts, and various other local resources capable of improving the welfare of village communities,” said Adhitya.
