Jakarta, September 22, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency appraised Indonesia's sendratari (the art of dance and drama) performance to have significant and sustainable economic potential. Sendratari performance serves not only as a form of stage performance, but also as a prototype of a region's strategic Intellectual Property (IP).
The Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf) provides comprehensive support for the Sendratari Wanara Alas Roban performance through the Indonesian Performing Arts Acceleration (SEJUKIN) Program, ranging from human resources (HR) capacity building and promotion facilitation to institutional support, in Batang Regency, Central Java, Sunday (20/9/2026).
Through its multiplier effect, Sendratari productions simultaneously stimulate multiple creative economy subsectors, starting from music, crafts/fashion, makeup artistry, even stage design, lighting, and multimedia. In addition, this sector empowers local culinary businesses while creating opportunities to transform narratives into high-value derivative products, such as animation and games.
"Sendratari is not merely a conventional stage performance. It is a prototype of a region's strategic Intellectual Property (IP) that is capable of driving multiple creative economy subsectors simultaneously through its multiplier effect," state The Deputy of Cultural Creativity and Design, Yuke Sri Rahayu, while attending the Sendratari Wanara Alas Roban performance in Batang Regency, Central Java, on Sunday, (9/20).
To optimize this potential, the Ministry of Creative Economy provides comprehensive support through Human Resource (HR) capacity building, promotional facilitation, and institutional support under the Indonesian Performing Arts Acceleration Program (SEJUKIN). The program focuses on strengthening arts group governance, enhancing choreography, developing artistic identity (branding), and improving stage management to enable regional arts communities to operate professionally and achieve financial independence.
Aside from capacity building, the Ministry of Creative Economy also facilitates publication amplification through the ministry's official promotional network while featuring the ministry leaders in various performing arts events. The presence of the ministry leaders is intended to establish the credibility of the events and expand opportunities for strategic partnerships with the private sector and investors. By combining original storytelling with immersive technology, Indonesian Sendratari is well-prepared to enter the international markets through strengthened logistics, global IP protection, and refined storyline alignment.

"With the originality of our folk tales, the depth of our philosophical values, and the integration of immersive technology with traditional cultural roots, our Sendratari is fully prepared to take the global stage and become an authentic attraction for international audiences," Yuke Sri Rahayu concluded.
Sendratari Wanara Alas Roban is a large-scale performing arts production with a "Guardians of the Forest, Guardians of Civilization" theme. The event was made through the collaboration among the Batang Regency Government, the Central Java Provincial Government, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), the Batang Regency Creative Economy Committee, and local arts communities. This initiative integrates performing arts, culture, and the creative economy into a flagship event within the national tourism plan.
