Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, explores collaboration with the Indonesian Venture Capital Association for Startups (AMVESINDO) at the Ministry of Creative Economy office, Jakarta, Wednesday (21/09/2026).
Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, said that strengthening access to funding is an important part of promoting the creative economy as one of the engines of national economic growth.
“The President has positioned the creative economy as a new engine of national economic growth, starting from various regions so that it is not concentrated only in major cities. Indonesia’s potential in creativity, innovation, and cultural strength must be supported by a comprehensive ecosystem, including access to funding and investment, so that creative economy practitioners can continue to grow sustainably,” said the Minister of Creative Economy at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta, Monday (21/9).
The meeting discussed critical challenges and the decline in funding faced by the domestic digital startup ecosystem, as well as opportunities for strategic collaboration covering funding sustainability, matchmaking, business mentoring, market network expansion, and synergy between the government and business organizations to accelerate access to training and global markets.
In addition, the collaboration discussed proposed fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, streamlined licensing processes, as well as the commitment of venture capital firms to serve as key partners in the growth of Indonesia’s national creative economy.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy is focused on encouraging empowered creative economy practitioners to level up into national companies and even expand to a global scale. Collaboration with AMVESINDO opens opportunities for more creative economy practitioners to gain access to capital and expand their businesses more broadly. In addition, ongoing collaboration must not stop at events, seminars, and pitching sessions. The core issues that we need to address together must also be followed up immediately with strategies and a timeline for further coordination with the relevant deputies,” emphasized the Minister of Creative Economy.

AMVESINDO is the official association of venture capital companies, established on May 13, 2016, and recognized by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The organization serves as a collaborative platform to promote the growth of the national startup ecosystem through strengthened access to funding, business mentoring, and the development of investment and innovation policies.
Chairman of AMVESINDO, Eddi Danusaputro, also said that the venture capital industry is increasingly focusing on high-value-added sectors and startups with clearer growth and profitability pathways. Currently, AMVESINDO has also developed the Startup Maturation Map, a self-assessment tool that evaluates startup maturity in terms of governance, human resources and culture, financial integrity, risk and compliance, as well as technology and infrastructure.
“Thank you to the Minister of Creative Economy for the discussion. The matters we need to address together will be followed up immediately, and the Minister’s directions will also be implemented. We hope that this synergy will open up more business opportunities, create jobs, and enable the work of Indonesia’s young generation to grow and reach the global stage,” said Eddi Danusaputro.
During the meeting, the Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by Deputy for Digital and Technology Creativity, M. Neil El Himam; Minister’s Special Staff for Strategic and Interinstitutional Affairs, Rian Firmansyah; Director of Technology Creativity, Dandy Yudha Feryawan; and Minister’s Expert Staff for Strategic and Interinstitutional Affairs, Gemintang Kejora Mallarangeng.
