Ministry of Creative Economy and MNC Collaborate to Strengthen the Creative Economy

Jakarta, February 6, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency conducted a visit to MNC Media at iNews Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday, February 7, 2025. This visit aimed to strengthen the creative economy sector through strategic collaboration between the government and the media industry.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya expressed his appreciation to MNC Media for engaging in discussions to foster synergy in the creative economy sector. He emphasized the crucial role of MNC Media in developing Indonesia’s creative industry, particularly in producing innovative and high-quality media content.

"The Ministry of Creative Economy recognizes that MNC Media plays a vital role in advancing the creative industry in Indonesia, in line with Asta Cita Prabowo-Gibran’s mission to promote self-sufficiency in the creative economy," said Riefky.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky also highlighted the importance of the media industry in creating a conducive ecosystem for creative economy players to improve their work quality. He believes that a supportive environment will have a positive impact on the national GDP.

"This collaboration aims to achieve an 8% contribution from the creative economy by enhancing human resource quality, developing the creative industry, and educating the public," he added.

Meanwhile, the CEO of iNews Media Group, Angela Tanoesoedibjo, stated that almost all of the 17 creative economy subsectors prioritized by the Ministry of Creative Economy are represented within the MNC Group’s media ecosystem. She emphasized that this partnership is crucial for strengthening the national creative industry and expanding the reach of government programs to the public and industry players.

"Most of the 17 creative economy subsectors are already accommodated within MNC Group through our various brands, such as iNews, Sindo, Okezone, IDX, and others. This collaboration is a strategic step toward strengthening Indonesia’s creative economy," said Angela.

During the visit, Minister of Creative Economy Riefky was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar, Deputy for Media Creativity Agustini Rahayu, and Secretary of Minister of Creative Economy Dessy Ruhati. Representing MNC Media were Managing Director of iNews Media Group Syafril Nasution, CEO of PT MNC Tbk Noersing, and several MNC Group editorial leaders.
