Ministry of Creative Economy Encourages the Use of AI to Empower Creative Talent and MSMEs

Jakarta, August 13, 2026 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, discussed the use of artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence/AI) technology to strengthen the capacity of young creative talent and enhance the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during a meeting with PT Inovasi Solusi Cerdas (KreasiKita). The Minister of Creative Economy noted that the use of AI technology creates opportunities to develop the capacities and economic activities of the younger generation.

“Sekarang, banyak gig economy yang menuntut generasi muda menjadi pekerja lepas tanpa harus berada di kantor. Kementerian Ekraf senantiasa terus mendorong pengembangan kapasitas generasi muda melalui berbagai pelatihan. Kombinasi pelatihan seperti voice over, affiliator, dan pemanfaatan AI dapat menjadi salah satu pendekatan untuk menghubungkan talenta kreatif dengan peluang kerja dan kewirausahaan,” ungkap Menteri Ekraf dalam audiensi yang berlangsung di Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Kamis (13/8).Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya (center), speaks with KreasiKita CEO Ivan Handryks Sitanaya (fourth from right) during a meeting with PT Inovasi Solusi Cerdas (KreasiKita) at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Thursday (August 13, 2026).

“Today, many gig economy opportunities require young people to work as freelancers without having to be based in an office. The Ministry of Creative Economy continues to encourage capacity building among young people through various training programs. A combination of training in areas such as voice-over, affiliate marketing, and the use of AI can serve as one approach to connecting creative talent with employment and entrepreneurship opportunities,” said the Minister of Creative Economy during the meeting at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Thursday (August 13).

KreasiKita is an AI-based career platform that connects young talent with employment opportunities while empowering MSMEs through digital technology. KreasiKita expressed its commitment to creating employment opportunities for young talent and supporting the use of digital technology in business activities to contribute to the growth of the national creative economy.

According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data, Indonesia’s Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) stood at 4.68 percent in February 2026, with a labor force of 154.91 million people and 147.67 million employed people. The use of AI-based technology, including through platforms such as KreasiKita, can form part of collaborative efforts to empower young people, support MSME digitalization, and promote responsible AI literacy.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy views the creative economy as having a strategic role in supporting the middle class, as each subsector is capable of creating new jobs and business opportunities. We also have various digital training programs for creative economy practitioners and young talent,” added the Minister of Creative Economy.

Meanwhile, the KreasiKita platform, scheduled to launch on August 18, 2026, is planned to offer several features, including job matching, weekly challenges, tasks, a community, and AI Studio for MSMEs (AI Image, AI Video, and AI Assistant). The platform is designed to support digital talent development and the utilization of technology in MSME activities.

“KreasiKita has two goals: helping young people access employment opportunities and supporting MSMEs in moving up to the next level. We provide AI-based features such as an image generator, video tools, and a chatbot that can support various work activities. The use of AI technology is expected to expand access to opportunities for Indonesia’s creative talent,” said KreasiKita CEO Ivan Handryks Sitanaya.
