Ministry of Creative Economy Explores Collaboration with Toco to Expand Digital Market Access

Jakarta, October 13, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is strengthening its efforts to establish a strategic collaboration with Toco, a community-based marketplace platform. This initiative aims to expand digital market access and enhance the capacity of national creative economy practitioners through the use of technology without administrative fees.

Langkah ini diambil guna memperluas akses pasar digital serta meningkatkan kapasitas para pegiat ekonomi kreatif nasional melalui pemanfaatan teknologi bebas biaya administrasi.Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, meets with Toco to strengthen efforts to explore strategic collaboration with the community-based marketplace platform, Jakarta, Tuesday (13/10/2026).

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized the importance of synergy with digital platforms to help creative economy practitioners optimize their market reach and sustainably scale up their businesses. This initiative is expected to enable more local creative economy practitioners to become local heroes who go national.

“Collaboration with digital platforms should be directed toward delivering tangible benefits to creative economy practitioners. Broader market access, the use of technology, and increased business capacity are essential to making local creative products more competitive and enabling them to reach a wider range of consumers,” said Teuku Riefky during an audience with Toco Founder and CEO Arnold Sebastian Egg at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta, Tuesday (13/10).

Toco is an Indonesian community-based marketplace and digital classifieds platform launched in August 2024. The platform implements a zero-percent administrative fee policy for sellers and offers a supporting ecosystem that includes payment services, logistics, online store management, and community development.

Toco Founder and CEO Arnold Sebastian Egg expressed his commitment to expanding the scope of the existing collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy. One of the proposed initiatives is the development of a dedicated landing page on the Toco platform to showcase the works and products of Indonesia’s creative economy practitioners.

“We plan to create an informative landing page as a platform for collaboration. Through this page, creative economy practitioners, particularly emerging talents and those whose development is ongoing, will have a dedicated space to introduce their work and potential. In addition, the available data can be further analyzed to optimize ongoing programs,” said Arnold.

“Kami berencana menghadirkan satu halaman landing page yang informatif sebagai wadah kolaborasi. Melalui halaman tersebut, pelaku ekonomi kreatif, khususnya talenta baru atau yang sedang dikembangkan, dapat memperoleh ruang khusus untuk memperkenalkan karya dan potensinya. Selain itu, data yang tersedia juga dapat diolah lebih lanjut untuk mengoptimalkan program-program yang telah berjalan,” ujar Arnold.Photo: Bureau for Communication, Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency.

Toco’s zero-admin-fee scheme offers an alternative solution for creative economy practitioners, particularly those in the crafts, culinary, fashion, and applications subsectors, enabling them to market their products digitally without reducing their sales margins through administrative charges.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Toco has already taken concrete form through the Badan Ekraf Digital Entrepreneurship (BDE) program. The program provided business digitalization training to 300 creative economy practitioners in Lhokseumawe, Medan, and Padang from August 11–31, 2026, as part of efforts to support recovery and strengthen technology-based economic activities in post-disaster areas.

Also attending the audience were Toco General Counsel Even Alex Chandra and BDE Business Support & Trainer Yusuf Ahmad. The Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by Deputy for Digital and Technology Creativity Muhammad Neil El Himam and Director of Applications Tri Wahyudi.
