The seven local musicians participating in the program were Khayra Hudaci from Lima Puluh Kota Regency, Elsa Mayora from West Pasaman Regency, Khairat KDI from South Solok Regency, Rhenima and Ajoe Buset from Padang Pariaman Regency, the Rabab Bintang Utara Group from Pesisir Selatan Regency, and Ilham Pranizuki from Padang City. The activity took place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, under the coordination of the Deputy for Media Creativity and the Directorate of Music at the Ministry of Creative Economy.

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized that sustaining creative economy activities plays a role in supporting community recovery following disasters. According to the Minister, providing creative practitioners with opportunities to resume productive activities must be part of efforts to build economic resilience in affected regions.

“The Sumatera Bangkit Local Musician Empowerment Program is not merely about music, but also about how creativity can become part of the recovery process and the community’s resurgence. We hope this initiative will strengthen local musicians while encouraging Sumatra’s creative economy potential to continue growing and generating sustainable economic benefits,” said the Minister.

Deputy for Media Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, said that developing regional musicians requires broader access to markets and the music industry ecosystem. Such support is essential to help music practitioners strengthen their position within the industry and develop sustainable business opportunities.

“Local musicians are an important part of Indonesia’s creative wealth. Through this program, we encourage musicians in disaster-affected regions to continue creating, expand their market access, and level up,” said Cecep.

As part of the program, the Ministry of Creative Economy presented the AKTIF Pavilion: Music Industry Consultation, which provided five consultation booths for musicians and local music industry practitioners. The pavilion involved the Directorate of Copyright and Industrial Design under the Directorate General of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Law; the PAPPRI Collective Management Organization for Related Rights; Massive Music Entertainment; and LOKA Musik. These services served as a platform for strengthening industry literacy, particularly in copyright protection, related rights management, music publishing, and content distribution.

Director of Music at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Mohammad Amin, explained that providing performance opportunities is one way to support musicians whose activities have been affected by disasters.

“The participation of musicians from flood-affected regions is one of the central messages of this program. They were given the opportunity to perform before the public, introduce their work and the distinctive characteristics of their respective regional music, and rebuild their confidence and professional networks after facing difficult circumstances caused by the disaster,” said Mohammad Amin.

The event was also attended by Wahendra, Head of Creative Economy Development at the West Sumatra Provincial Tourism Office, representing the Governor of West Sumatra, and Yenni Yuliza, Head of the Padang City Tourism Office, representing the Mayor of Padang. Representatives of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) also visited the event, particularly the AKTIF Pavilion.

Through the involvement of the central government, regional governments, and industry practitioners, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that consultation facilities and public creative spaces will strengthen support for local musicians throughout the post-disaster recovery process.
