The invitation was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during a meeting with several KOLs and content creators at Akira Back, Jakarta, Friday (9/10).

“We want our fellow KOLs to get involved in WCCE 2026. Through their networks and audiences, they can help introduce Indonesia’s creative economy potential to a broader public. We also hope this collaboration will create opportunities for more creative economy practitioners to connect with various stakeholders,” said Irene.

WCCE 2026 will bring together government representatives and creative industry players from various countries through conferences, discussions, and business networking activities. The event series will also include Creative Village, taking place from October 21–25, 2026, in the SCBD area and surrounding locations in Jakarta, featuring a variety of creative works and activities for the public.

Irene also explained that opportunities to participate remain open to KOLs who own creative brands or businesses. Their involvement can provide an opportunity to introduce their products while leveraging digital networks to reach a wider range of consumers and business partners.

In addition to discussing collaboration opportunities, the meeting featured an interactive question-and-answer session on intellectual property (IP) protection. This issue is a key concern for creators developing creative works, digital content, and business identities. The discussion highlighted the importance of protecting rights to creative works so that they can continue to be developed as economic assets.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy continues to support intellectual property protection for creators and brand owners. We want to ensure that every creative work not only has economic value but also receives adequate protection. This will help creative economy practitioners feel more confident in developing their businesses and expanding their business opportunities sustainably,” Irene explained.

“Kementerian Ekraf terus mendukung perlindungan kekayaan intelektual bagi para kreator dan pemilik merek. Kami ingin memastikan setiap karya yang dihasilkan tidak hanya memiliki nilai ekonomi, tetapi juga memperoleh perlindungan yang memadai. Dengan begitu, para pelaku kreatif dapat lebih percaya diri dalam mengembangkan usaha dan memperluas peluang bisnis secara berkelanjutan,” jelas Irene.Photo: Bureau for Communication, Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency.

Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, who also attended the meeting, introduced the 41st edition of Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), scheduled to take place on October 14–18, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Tangerang Regency. Roro highlighted opportunities for leading local products to reach export markets through meetings with international buyers. The trade event serves as a platform for expanding market access for Indonesian products.

Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that the involvement of KOLs, content creators, and local brand owners in WCCE 2026 will increase the exposure of Indonesian creative works, strengthen awareness of the importance of intellectual property protection, and open up sustainable partnership opportunities for national creative economy practitioners.
