Jakarta, July 23, 2026 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the national film ecosystem through transparent, accurate, and sustainable industry data governance. This is particularly important as the national film industry is currently showing increasingly positive growth trends.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy wants Indonesia’s film ecosystem to grow larger, become higher quality, and remain sustainable. In addition to expanding access to screens and the distribution of national films, we also seek to strengthen data-driven policies that can encourage investment, content diversification, and international collaboration, enabling the continued growth of Indonesia’s film industry,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya during a meeting with Cinepoint at Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, on Thursday (July 23).
Teuku Riefky noted that the availability of comprehensive industry data would strengthen the precision of government policies. Cinepoint data, in particular, revealed a surge in the market share of Indonesian films, reaching more than 60 percent in 2025. In the first half of 2026, 15 film titles successfully surpassed one million viewers, exceeding the industry’s average achievement in the previous year.

“The government serves as a facilitator that brings together all stakeholders, including creative economy practitioners, investors, data platforms, and other relevant institutions, so that they share a common vision for developing a healthy and competitive Indonesian film ecosystem. With strong data, policies can be more precise,” said Teuku Riefky.
As a concrete step toward this collaborative approach, the Ministry of Creative Economy is exploring a strategic partnership with Cinepoint. The Ministry is currently preparing a formal partnership framework in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to optimize the development of data infrastructure and expand analytical services to ensure more targeted outcomes.
“For us as policymakers, Cinepoint’s data will certainly be highly valuable and can serve as a basis for planning, program development, and policy interventions. We hope that going forward, we can work with Cinepoint as a data partner to further strengthen the national film ecosystem,” added Agus Syarip Hidayat, Director of Policy Studies and Strategic Management at the Ministry of Creative Economy.

On the same occasion, Cinepoint presented its readiness to launch Cinepoint Pro, a film analytics platform based on Software as a Service (SaaS). The platform is designed to comprehensively collect box office data, social media trend analysis, marketing performance, audience demographics, and the geographic distribution of viewers.
“Cinepoint is a data and analytics platform for Indonesia’s film industry. We are developing Cinepoint Pro, which will provide data dimensions ranging from box office figures and social media conversations about films to variations in audience numbers and viewer locations, all of which will be compiled into the platform. The Minister of Creative Economy has been very open and supportive of collaboration, with ideas that we can follow up on further. Starting from a data perspective, so that all industry players have good benchmarks and visibility, we are working to ensure that the film industry and other stakeholders have clear transparency, enabling them to unlock many other opportunities effectively,” explained Vincent Putera, Director/Cofounder of Cinepoint.
