“What I appreciate most about ASIED is that this program is not only about competition, but also about learning, building self-confidence, and creating opportunities. Through workshops, masterclasses, and this championship, participants gain valuable experience and skills that will equip them to continue growing in the future,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya while opening the ASIED National Championships Grand Finale at @america, Pacific Place, Jakarta, on Friday (July 17).

The program is the result of a multi-sector collaboration involving the United States Embassy in Indonesia, American Spaces Indonesia, the Executive Board of Esports Indonesia (PB ESI), Yayasan Odong Prestasi Indonesia, and Garudaku Academy. Through the American Corner network across Indonesia, ASIED has reached more than 1,200 participants through a series of workshops and masterclasses. This year’s program also commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States while celebrating the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.

Human resource development in the games subsector aligns with the Ministry of Creative Economy’s efforts to strengthen the national creative economy ecosystem. Through collaboration with various partners, the Ministry continues to expand access to learning spaces, creative spaces, and creative hubs for young people across the country, enabling more creative talents to enter Indonesia’s game industry.

“Today, esports has become an integral part of Indonesia’s creative economy. The ecosystem encompasses not only athletes but also casters, content creators, coaches, event organizers, and many other creative professions that continue to grow together. Therefore, we are committed to continuing this collaboration so that more young Indonesian talents have the opportunity to develop,” the Minister added.

“Esports hari ini telah menjadi bagian penting dari ekonomi kreatif Indonesia. Di dalamnya tidak hanya ada atlet, tetapi juga caster, content creator, coach, event organizer, dan banyak profesi kreatif lainnya yang tumbuh bersama dalam satu ekosistem. Karena itu, kami siap melanjutkan kolaborasi agar semakin banyak talenta muda Indonesia memperoleh kesempatan berkembang,” tambah Menteri Ekraf.Photo: Bureau for Communication, Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency.
