Jakarta, August 4, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is strengthening its synergy with PT Indo The Nusantara, the organizer of LaLaLa Fest, to expand Indonesia’s music industry networks globally. This synergy was reaffirmed by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, during a meeting with the organizers of LaLaLa Fest at Autograph Tower, Jakarta.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with the organizers of LaLaLa Fest at the Ministry of Creative Economy office, Jakarta, Tuesday (August 4, 2026).
“Music festivals not only provide entertainment but also serve as a platform for creative industry players from various countries to connect. Such momentum should create memorable experiences for international delegates while also opening up economic opportunities for Indonesia’s creative economy players,” said Irene Umar on Tuesday (August 4).
The meeting discussed preparations for LaLaLa Fest 2026, which will be held on August 22–23, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, as well as the Taiwan Beats in Jakarta collaboration program. The meeting also highlighted the establishment of the Asia Pacific International Music Festival Association (APIMFA) as a platform for collaboration among music festival organizers across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy encouraged festivals to go beyond focusing solely on music performances by also offering experiences that showcase Indonesia’s creative economy. The Ministry of Creative Economy’s support includes strengthening promotion, welcoming international delegates, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, and integrating supporting creative economy subsectors such as culinary, crafts, and transportation to generate broader economic impact.

“We want delegates who come here not only to enjoy the festival but also to discover Indonesia’s diverse creative products and experiences. The more experiences they have while they are here, the greater the opportunity for Indonesia to gain recognition and foster further collaboration,” said Irene.
LaLaLa Fest is an international-scale annual music and arts festival organized by PT Indo The Nusantara since 2016. Entering its first decade, the festival has transformed into a collaborative platform that brings together musicians, promoters, publishers, record labels, and music industry players from various countries.

Strengthening its international network this year, LaLaLa Fest is collaborating with Taiwan Beats through a series of activities in Manila and Jakarta. The program involves approximately 50 Taiwanese music industry delegates through networking sessions and business matching to encourage talent exchange, work promotion, and expanded access to the national music industry in global markets.
“We appreciate the support and valuable input from the Ministry of Creative Economy for the organization of LaLaLa Fest 2026. This collaboration is expected to further strengthen Indonesia’s position as a host for international music festivals while creating broader opportunities for cooperation between national music industry players and partners from various countries,” said President Director of PT Indo The Nusantara, Donny Heru.
