Ministry of Creative Economy Strengthens Global Synergy to Formulate Jakarta Vision at WCCE 2026

Jakarta, July 28, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) held the Interministerial Meeting of the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026 Organizing Committee, followed by the WCCE 2026 Briefing with ambassadors and representatives of friendly countries in Jakarta. This strategic step was taken to strengthen preparations for the world’s largest creative economy conference.

Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Secretary-General of the Creative Economy Agency, Dessy Ruhati, delivers remarks and a briefing at the Interministerial Meeting of the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026 Organizing Committee, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/7/2026).

Under the theme Inclusively Creative: Collective Continuity, WCCE 2026 emphasizes the crucial importance of sustaining global collaboration to bridge economic and cultural gaps. Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Secretary-General of the Creative Economy Agency, Dessy Ruhati, said that the coordination aims to align perspectives while ensuring that all stages of preparation proceed according to target. Cross-ministerial and institutional synergy is key to ensuring that WCCE 2026 delivers a tangible impact on strengthening the global creative economy ecosystem.

“The implementation of WCCE is highly anticipated, as the creative economy in other countries is experiencing significant growth. This demonstrates that Indonesia’s creative economy, which ranks third after the United States and South Korea, has attracted the attention of countries that are developing their own creative economies. We expect WCCE to produce the Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy 2026, which Indonesia can subsequently use as a strategic basis in proposing the third UN Resolution on the creative economy,” said Dessy, Tuesday (28/7).

Through the briefing session, the Ministry of Creative Economy directly invited around 60 representatives from friendly countries and international organizations to actively participate in The 5th World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026. Since its inaugural edition in 2018, WCCE has become a key multilateral platform that engages all global creative economy stakeholders through multi-track diplomacy to share best practices while formulating solutions to challenges facing the creative sector. This year’s conference is expected to bring together thousands of participants from more than 80 countries.

Acting Deputy for Strategic Development of Creative Economy, Agus Syarip Hidayat, emphasized that one of the key outcomes of WCCE 2026 will be the Jakarta Vision document, which will serve as the basis for Indonesia in initiating a United Nations (UN) resolution on the creative economy.

“We hope WCCE can serve as a global platform for developing the creative economy as a new engine of growth in various countries. We look forward to welcoming all creative economy stakeholders from around the world this October to jointly shape the future agenda of the creative economy,” said Agus.

In line with this, Acting Director of Marketing System Development and Institutional Relations, Aulia Chloridiany, explained that the Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy is being formulated collaboratively to reflect the shared aspirations of the international community. The document is expected to serve as the foundation for Indonesia’s initiative in proposing the next UN resolution on strengthening the role of the creative economy in the post-2030 global development agenda.

“This document is not only Indonesia’s vision, but a vision that we seek to build together with all countries. Therefore, we invite stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to contribute their input through FCE Square as part of the formulation process,” said Aulia.

In addition to inviting friendly countries to actively participate in WCCE 2026, the Ministry of Creative Economy is also opening opportunities for partner countries to host the World Conference on Creative Economy 2028. Through this forum, broader collaboration is expected to emerge to strengthen the creative economy as a new engine of global growth while reinforcing Indonesia’s position in advancing the creative economy agenda at the international level.

The event was attended by Echelon I and II officials from the Ministry of Creative Economy, as well as representatives from several other Ministries/Institutions. The WCCE briefing forum was attended by 11 Ambassadors and Chargés d’Affaires ad interim of friendly countries, as well as more than 60 foreign diplomats representing their respective countries in Indonesia.
