Ministry of Creative Economy Strengthens the Digital Media Ecosystem Through Hexahelix Synergy

Jakarta, September 21, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is ready to strengthen synergy with the Indonesian Cyber Media Association (AMSI) through a hexahelix collaboration approach. This strategic step is taken in response to the rapid changes in digital media, the adaptation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and the need to formulate new media business models.

Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Rifky Harsya, receives an audience with the Indonesian Cyber Media Association (AMSI) to promote the acceleration of digital media business models at the Ministry of Creative Economy office, Jakarta, Monday (21/09/2026).

“Collaboration with AMSI is essential because the reciprocity can mutually support the creative economy subsectors and media, and vice versa. Naturally, many AMSI members already run empowering and independent businesses, so what we require is acceleration. The Ministry of Creative Economy can co-curate alongside AMSI by strengthening IP commercialization, scaling up market access, and assisting in network promotion from the national to global levels,” Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated while receiving an audience with AMSI board members at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Monday (9/21).

The Minister emphasized that the development of the creative economy ecosystem requires the active involvement of hexahelix elements, where media plays a central role in broadening the reach and public added value of creative works and talent. Cyber media does not merely act as news channels, but serves as accelerators for promotion, distribution, and market expansion across the national creative economy value chain.

During the audience, AMSI invited the Minister of Creative Economy to deliver a keynote speech at IDMC, planned to take place on October 28, 2026, at Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya. IDMC 2026 will cover topics including media business models, journalistic content copyright, media adaptation to AI and creators, as well as media relationships with the creative industry.

“The creative economy can be realized through mutual collaboration; thus, the broader the collaborative integration, the greater the impact. The Indonesia Digital Media Conference (IDMC) program initiated by AMSI is compelling as it presents trends, insights, and research related to future media business models and copyright. Speakers from AI companies could certainly be invited as well to discuss collaboration opportunities with media and other digital creators,” the Minister continued.

“We are pleased with the Minister of Creative Economy’s very positive reception during this audience. We also invited him to speak at the IDMC 2026 event in Surabaya. We hope to receive his guidance regarding the future digital industry trends and how the creative economy can present opportunities for the development of the media industry, especially with AI technology and the shift in news consumer behavior toward social media,” Wahyu Dhyatmika, General Chairperson of AMSI expressed.

As a non-profit organization declared on April 18, 2017, AMSI brings together cyber media companies or publishers that meet the Press Council standards. With a total membership of approximately 520 online media outlets across Indonesia, AMSI is committed to build a cyber media industry that is healthy in business and content quality. AMSI’s vision also drives the development of responsible and trustworthy cyber journalism to advance ethical reporting standards on the internet.
