Ministry of Creative Economy Supports Orchid Extravaganza at Gardens by the Bay

Jakarta, July 10, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is presenting the Indonesia x Singapore Orchid Extravaganza at the Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore, as part of MASA Singapore 2026. Running until August 10, 2026, the exhibition marks a historic milestone as Indonesia becomes the first Southeast Asian country to hold an exhibition at Gardens by the Bay, one of the world’s most iconic destinations.

Vice Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar attends the opening of the Indonesia x Singapore Orchid Extravaganza at the Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

“Orchid Extravaganza is Indonesia’s way of introducing its national identity through creativity. We want the world to recognize Indonesia not only for its natural beauty but also for the creative works inspired by our rich culture, traditions, and geographical intellectual property,” said Vice Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during the opening of the Indonesia x Singapore Orchid Extravaganza at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore, on Saturday (July 4).

The exhibition offers an immersive journey through Indonesia’s geographical and cultural diversity, featuring more than 30 art installations representing eight regions: Sumatra, Jakarta, Central Java, Lampung, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, and Kalimantan. Each installation combines traditional architecture, endemic flora, native fauna, and geographical intellectual property, creating a unique experience that allows visitors to explore Indonesia’s rich diversity within a single exhibition space.

The Orchid Extravaganza represents a new milestone in cultural relations between Indonesia and Singapore while highlighting the growing international presence of Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem. The exhibition also serves as a platform to introduce Indonesian creative works to a global audience through one of Singapore’s most iconic tourist destinations.

“Through artistic expressions inspired by Indonesia’s geographical and cultural richness, we want to demonstrate that Indonesia is a vibrant, dynamic, and continuously evolving creative ecosystem,” the Vice Minister said.

The Orchid Extravaganza was made possible through the spirit of gotong royong (mutual collaboration), bringing together artists, creators, communities, universities, and strategic partners from Indonesia. The visitor experience is further enriched by contributions from Make a Scene, Pagelaran Sabang Merauke, Mortier x Jerhemy Owen, paintings by Erika Richardo, the Sound of Indonesia musical composition by Addie MS, and the Electronic Gamelan (E-Gamelan) innovation developed by Universitas Dian Nuswantoro.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Alvin Tan, Singapore’s Minister of State for National Development and Trade and Industry, and Felix Loh, Chief Executive Officer of Gardens by the Bay.
