Jakarta, July 28, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is strengthening its long-term collaboration with the Creative Economy Higher Education Consortium (KPT Ekraf) through the planned Creative Consortium Summit & Innovation Challenge (CCSIC) 2026, which will be held this September at Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), Bandung. The collaboration marks a strategic step toward accelerating the development of talent, research, and innovation capable of creating greater added value for Indonesia.

Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, also emphasized that KPT Ekraf serves as a strategic government partner in implementing the Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) 2026–2045, particularly in strengthening research, education, innovation, and talent development across the regions.
"KPT Ekraf has consistently been highlighted during meetings with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology as well as the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) as an essential component of the Rindekraf implementation. Collaboration with KPT Ekraf must continue to be strengthened so that research, education, innovation, and creative economy talent development are aligned with the national innovation agenda, including programs such as the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026. Through this collaboration, KPT Ekraf will become a strategic partner in the Creative Session," said the Minister while receiving representatives of KPT Ekraf at the Ministry's office in Jakarta on Tuesday (July 28).

The Minister explained that KPT Ekraf programs such as CCSIC should not stop at research development and intellectual property creation but must also facilitate the commercialization of innovations for the global market. According to him, higher education institutions play a crucial role in translating campus research into real economic value that contributes directly to national growth.
"The Ministry of Creative Economy will continue to promote the key transformation of the value chain—create, protect, and commercialize. Innovations developed through KPT Ekraf should not remain merely as academic research or intellectual property, but should evolve into commercial products or flagship creative works, grow into national brands, and ultimately expand to the global market. This is the essence of a creative economy that generates added value," he stated.
KPT Ekraf is an association of higher education institutions dedicated to advancing education, research, talent development, and innovation in the creative economy. Comprising 15 universities, the consortium was initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy in January 2025 at the University of Indonesia. It has since become a legally established organization, ready to support the development of a creative economy ecosystem across both public and private universities.
"As part of the Road to WCCE, KPT Ekraf is fully prepared to organize CCSIC 2026 as a collaborative platform for sharing the creative industry roadmap, particularly in the field of education. We also hope to strengthen collaboration through an innovation challenge that can identify and accelerate local talents in creating brands with strong growth potential. We hope KPT Ekraf will continue to support the Ministry's programs in advancing Indonesia's creative economy," said Dewi Kartika Sari, Chair of KPT Ekraf and Head of the Applied Master's Program in Creative Industries at the University of Indonesia.
