Kementerian Ekonomi Kreatif/Badan Ekonomi Kreatif (Ekraf) pun mendorong keberlanjutan ICC sebagai wadah pertumbuhan talenta, komunitas, serta industri kreatif berbasis pop culture.Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, received an audience with ICC organizers at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta, Monday (7/9/2026).

“Indonesia Comic Con has been part of the journey of pop culture development in Indonesia for a decade. Its consistent efforts to bring together creators, communities, and industry players demonstrate that spaces like this have great potential to continue developing as part of the creative economy ecosystem,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar while receiving an audience with ICC organizers at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta, Monday (7/9).

The one-decade celebration of ICC is scheduled to take place on October 3–4, 2026, at Hall Expo and Arena Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta, featuring various elements of pop culture, ranging from comics, toys, films, games, music, and cosplay to creative communities. Since its debut in 2015, ICC has consistently served not only as a gathering space for fans but has also developed into a meeting point for fandoms and commercial activities, opening opportunities for creators and industry players to introduce their works.

Entering its 10th year, ICC will once again host the Raya Championship of Cosplay, providing cosplayers with an opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity within pop culture. Director of Panorama Media, Andita Tirtawisata, said that ICC also serves as a platform to promote and develop local intellectual property (IP). According to him, this vision is reflected in the involvement of local creators in ICC.

“Our goal and vision remain to elevate local IP. That has always been one of our visions. We also have several sections on the floor plan that feature many local creators. Individually, the pricing is also more affordable compared to those who already have more established brands, as part of our efforts to support these creators. We are here not only as a festival or a convention that is purely celebratory, but also to help advance the industry through creativity,” said Andita.

ICC also presents the Indonesia Cosplay Grand Prix, a national cosplay competition that serves as a stage for Indonesian talent to showcase their creativity and performance skills. The preliminary rounds have been held in five regions: the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Bali, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, and Malang. The winning team will advance to the final round and have the opportunity to represent Indonesia at the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan.

Meanwhile, Project Manager of Indonesia Comic Con, Lulu Anwar, said that this year ICC is also collaborating with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) to promote creator exchanges between Indonesia and Hong Kong. In addition, ICC has an intellectual property (IP) named Kapten Sultan, which is open to development and collaboration with various parties.

“Indonesia Comic Con itself is a reunion for pop culture enthusiasts centered around five pillars: comics, toys, movies, music, and games. We wrap all of these in a lifestyle experience, including cosplay. This year, we have made the theme about Indonesia Comic Con’s 10th anniversary, with the hope that all stakeholders in the creative economy ecosystem and creative economy players can continue to move forward,” said Lulu.

Also attending the audience were Senior Vice President of UniPin Global, Debora Imanuella, and Event & Community Manager of UniPin, Laura Denali. The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by Director of Publishing and Photography, Iman Santosa.
