“Love for the homeland is a shared effort to strengthen nationalism and patriotism. This Independence Day ceremony reflects the responsibility and discipline of civil servants in realizing national, state, and community life grounded in the values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. The Ministry of Creative Economy continues to interpret independence by bringing about creative transformation that benefits society,” said Teuku Riefky, who wore traditional Acehnese attire, on Monday (August 17).

The Minister of Creative Economy called on all civil servants at the Ministry of Creative Economy to use this year’s Independence Day momentum to strengthen collaboration and foster national unity in line with the theme of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.” For Teuku Riefky, all civil servants must remain united as one team so that efforts to establish the creative economy as a new engine of national economic growth can strengthen sovereignty and improve public welfare.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy must be progressive and responsive as a form of service and tangible contribution from those working in the creative sector. This Independence Day momentum will serve as a platform to strengthen relationships, foster national spirit, and reinforce values of care aimed at preserving unity. Be public servants who carry the spirit of developing the creative economy for the benefit of the nation,” said Teuku Riefky.

In addition to the raising of the Red and White flag, the ceremony continued with the recitation of Pancasila, the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Proclamation text, and a prayer. Teuku Riefky also presented Satyalancana Karya Satya awards to 19 civil servants of the Ministry of Creative Economy in recognition of their contributions and dedication, comprising four recipients for 30 years of service, 13 recipients for 20 years, and two recipients for 10 years.

Selain pengibaran bendera merah putih, rangkaian upacara dilanjutkan dengan pembacaan naskah Pancasila, Pembukaan Undang-Undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 1945, naskah proklamasi, dan pembacaan doa. The modest Independence Day ceremony featured Ekraf Voice choir performances of the national anthem Indonesia Raya, Mengheningkan Cipta, Padamu Negeri, Tanah Airku, Ayo Mama, and Sajojo. The performance represented the creativity of creative economy talents while fostering a spirit of nationalism and a commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

The occasion also conveyed solidarity and a message of mutual support and cooperation for communities affected by the disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). In addition, the Ministry of Creative Economy expressed its concern over the situation in Aceh.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy family stands united in deep grief and empathy with our brothers and sisters in NTT. Independence and national unity are truly tested when we embrace one another during difficult times. I call on the entire creative economy ecosystem to consolidate our strength and channel tangible support to help ease the burden on disaster victims. We must also maintain peace in Aceh. Aspirations must be expressed peacefully and constructively. Do not be easily provoked. The Red and White flag and the Garuda Pancasila, as symbols of the state, must be respected,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

The ceremony commemorating the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence was attended by all echelon I and II officials and staff within the Ministry of Creative Economy. Following the ceremony, participants wearing traditional attire and Nusantara woven textiles gathered for a group photo as a symbol of Indonesia’s cultural identity.
