Rising from Disaster, Ministry of Creative Economy Equips 50 Creative Talents in Padang Pariaman with Business Literacy

Jakarta, September 16, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) ensures that post-disaster recovery focuses not only on restoring physical conditions but also on sustaining businesses and livelihoods within the community.

Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, ensures that the Ministry of Creative Economy continues to support recovery while strengthening the business capacity of creative economy practitioners affected by the disaster through its commitment to the Post-Disaster Business Literacy Program for Creative Economy Practitioners, held in Padang Pariaman Regenc

This commitment was realized through the Business Literacy program for Creative Economy Practitioners in Padang Pariaman Regency, held on Tuesday (15/9). Organized by the Deputy for Strategic Development of Creative Economy through the Directorate of Access to Funding, Financing and Investment, the activity was attended by 50 creative economy players.

The activity is part of efforts to support recovery while strengthening the business capacity of creative economy practitioners affected by the disaster. Participants received enhanced business and financial literacy, as well as information on available support that can be utilized to develop their businesses.

“Creative economy players must be part of the recovery process. We want them not only to resume their businesses, but also to have stronger capacities to grow and remain resilient,” said Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya.

Meanwhile, Regent of Padang Pariaman, John Kenedy Azis, expressed his appreciation for the support and collaboration of various parties in helping creative economy players in the region recover.

“Economic recovery requires collective efforts. We hope this activity can serve as a concrete step to help creative economy players rise and resume developing their businesses,” said John Kenedy Azis.

Echoing this sentiment, Director of Funding, Financing and Investment Access Development at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, emphasized the importance of strengthening business capacity in the post-disaster recovery process.

“Business recovery is not only about resuming sales, but also about ensuring that creative economy players have the knowledge and preparedness to build more resilient and sustainable businesses,” said Anggara.

Support for recovery is also strengthened through collaboration with the banking sector. Assistant Vice President of Bank Mandiri Government & Institutional 1 Group, Aryanto Yudho, said that collaboration is an important part of supporting the economic recovery of the community. The collaboration is expected to benefit creative economy players while contributing to joint efforts to revitalize business activities in Padang Pariaman.

The activity went beyond providing materials by equipping participants with practical knowledge, ranging from business literacy and awareness of funding security to ways of accessing capital. The program was also designed to be sustainable. After completing the literacy stage, creative economy players who meet the criteria may proceed to the mentoring and assistance stage before participating in a pitching session to connect their businesses with potential partners and sources of funding.

The next stage involves impact monitoring to assess the development and sustainability of businesses after receiving facilitation. The program series was carried out through collaboration among the Ministry of Creative Economy, particularly the Directorate of Access to Funding, Financing and Investment; Bank Mandiri through the Government & Institutional 1 Group, Bank Mandiri Area Padang, and Bank Mandiri Lubuk Alung Branch; the Padang Pariaman Regency Government; and the West Sumatra Provincial OJK Office.
