Jakarta, August 19, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) fully supports the organization of the Andrea Bocelli: Romanza 30th Anniversary concert. The support represents a tangible form of cross-sector collaboration to strengthen the national creative economy ecosystem and open the global stage to Indonesian musicians.
Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, attends the press conference for the Andrea Bocelli: Romanza 30th Anniversary in Indonesia concert at the Junior Ballroom, JIExpo Convention Center, Kemayoran, Jakarta, Wednesday (August 19, 2026).
The support was conveyed by Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, during a joint press conference with the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, InJourney, Shoemaker Studios, and JIExpo in Jakarta on Wednesday (August 19).
The concert by the world-renowned tenor is scheduled to take place at Borobudur Temple, Magelang, on October 31, 2026, and at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran on November 3, 2026. The event underscores growing global confidence in Indonesia as a destination for world-class international events.
“The presence of concerts like this demonstrates the growing international confidence in Indonesia, while also serving as a golden moment to showcase our cultural wealth, increase tourism exposure, and involve creative economy players in Indonesia,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

The Minister of Creative Economy said world-class concerts can bring Indonesian and international musicians together on the same stage. Such collaboration provides opportunities for experience exchange, expands networks, and increases opportunities for Indonesian musical works and talent to gain greater recognition globally.
“For the Ministry of Creative Economy, world-class concerts like this not only bring international performers, but also feature Indonesian musicians on the same stage,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.
International concerts also provide professionals working behind the scenes with hands-on experience in global production standards. Production teams, stage management, artist management, as well as audio and lighting engineers can gain direct experience that strengthens the capacity and competitiveness of Indonesia’s music industry talent. This experience forms part of the knowledge transfer process that can enrich the competencies of Indonesian professionals.
“In a concert, music is the locomotive that drives many other creative economy subsectors. These include fashion, culinary, crafts, performing arts, design, photography, videography, advertising, and digital content. All of these subsectors grow together through the economic activities they generate,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

According to him, this role is in line with the Rindekraf Presidential Regulation, or the National Creative Economy Masterplan, signed on July 2, 2026. President Prabowo Subianto designated music as one of the priority subsectors because of its multiplier effect on employment, investment, exports, and the creative economy sector’s contribution to GDP.
The Minister of Creative Economy added that Kampung Budaya will serve as a platform to curate and showcase works and products by local creative economy players, including those from the fashion, culinary, and crafts subsectors. The initiative is part of efforts to showcase regional creative potential during the concert in Borobudur.
Founder of Shoemaker Studios, Prajna Murdaya, expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Creative Economy’s support in conceptualizing and implementing Kampung Budaya as part of the concert series in Borobudur. According to him, the support also provides space for small and medium-sized creative businesses and their works to be featured throughout the series of events.
“Pak Riefky, thank you for your support in conceptualizing and implementing Kampung Budaya, as well as for your commitment to supporting small and medium-sized creative businesses and the works that will be featured on the stage,” said Prajna.
Kampung Budaya will showcase traditional arts, culinary offerings, and tourism from Magelang and Central Java as part of the series of activities surrounding the Borobudur concert. President Director of InJourney, Maya Watono, said holding the concert at Borobudur provides an opportunity to strengthen the nation branding of Borobudur and Indonesia in the eyes of the world. The planned broadcast of the concert and documentary through digital platforms also has the potential to expand the destination’s exposure to global audiences.

“I believe this will have an extraordinary impact on the nation branding of Borobudur and Indonesia in the eyes of the world. The OTT platform will be watched by millions of tourists around the world, who will be able to see the beauty of Borobudur, which I believe we have kept to ourselves for far too long,” said Maya.
The Minister of Creative Economy expressed hope that the Andrea Bocelli concert would inspire the utilization of various regional spaces and icons to host world-class events.
“Congratulations and best wishes for the success of the Andrea Bocelli: Romanza 30th Anniversary concert to the organizers and all parties who have made it possible. We hope this will inspire collaborations between hundreds of regional landmarks and icons and international concerts held across Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke,” he concluded.
The press conference was also attended by Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, as well as representatives of partners, sponsors, and organizers.
