“Our presence here today is in accordance with the President’s directive as part of efforts to empower communities in the aftermath of the disaster. Through an enjoyable and participatory approach, disaster-affected communities, particularly students, are invited to play board games as a medium for trauma recovery. We believe that games are not merely entertainment, but can also serve as a means of emotional recovery, strengthening social interaction, and rebuilding confidence and optimism,” said Minister of Creative Economy (Menekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, at the Aceh Tamiang Regent’s Tribune, Friday (11/9).
During the activity, which was attended by 50 students, the Minister of Creative Economy interacted and played directly using the local board games Sekata and Superfood. In addition to being child-friendly and easy to understand, both games from the games subsector have proven effective in encouraging social interaction and enriching language literacy. This activation also expands the reach of local games to markets outside Java.
“This is the essence of the creative economy: collaboration. Through board games such as Sekata and Superfood, we hope they can serve as enjoyable and effective learning media for developing various skills among children, while also being directly applicable in teaching and learning activities as well as community settings,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.
