Through Protocol Camp, Ministry of Creative Economy Opens Access for Indonesian Talent to Asia’s Technology Ecosystem

Jakarta, August 24, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) continues to strengthen collaboration to provide Indonesian digital talent with opportunities to connect with builders, mentors, and industry players from across Asia. One such effort is the collaboration with ShardLab.Ltd through the Final Demo Day Protocol Camp Cohort 9, held as part of Coinfest Asia 2026 in Bali on Friday (21/8).

Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, said strengthening the Emerging Technology subsector is an important step in developing Indonesian Web3 and blockchain talent to compete at the Asian level. According to him, cross-border collaboration is one of the efforts to advance Indonesian talent while strengthening the nation's capacity as a producer of technological innovations and products. This is in line with efforts to establish the creative economy as the new engine of growth.

“The government wants Indonesia to be not only a market, but also a builder. We want to see more Indonesian founders, developers, creators, and entrepreneurs build world-class solutions and bring intellectual property from the local level to become national champions and compete in global markets,” said the Minister of Creative Economy during Indonesia Blockchain Week 2026 some time ago.

The Minister of Creative Economy added that strengthening digital talent capacity is increasingly relevant to the direction of national creative economy policy outlined in the Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) 2026–2045. Under Rindekraf, Emerging Technology is one of the subsectors being developed within the creative economy ecosystem, encompassing blockchain, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, robotics, semiconductors, and quantum computing.

“Emerging technologies such as blockchain and AI are no longer viewed merely as supporting technologies, but as part of the development of the creative economy ecosystem that can create new economic value. Therefore, we need to ensure that Indonesia has talent that is not only capable of using technology, but also capable of building products, creating intellectual property, and developing competitive businesses,” the Minister of Creative Economy added.

The Final Demo Day Protocol Camp Cohort 9 featured 10 builder teams from several Asian countries presenting the products and solutions they developed during the program. The 10 teams were Code Alchemist, ContentDAO, DollarParking (BeBridge), GoGoCash, Gyeol (Gasflow), HypurrQuant, Nammu, Luminalog (Argo), Serenade Data, and UTXOpia.

Six Indonesian participants in Protocol Camp Cohort 9 were part of the program’s third batch to be expanded across Asia. Cohort 9 had previously completed the Mid Demo stage in Seoul in July 2026. The participation of six Indonesian talents in the program represents one of the Ministry of Creative Economy’s efforts to encourage Indonesian digital talent to compete internationally, as well as a follow-up to the collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and ShardLab.Ltd through Protocol Camp 2026, a 12-week bootcamp and mentorship program connecting builders from various countries across Asia.

“The development of blockchain and AI shows that emerging technologies are increasingly becoming part of everyday life and economic activities in Indonesia. Therefore, our focus should not stop at the technology itself, but rather on how that technology can be translated into products, business models, and solutions that deliver tangible impacts and create added value for the creative economy,” said Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam, in his remarks while opening the event.

One of the Indonesian teams participating in the Final Demo Day Cohort 9 was Serenade Data. Serenade Data developed a financial literacy platform for children using gamification through simulations that introduce the concepts of saving and investment interactively. The event, which provided a platform for digital talent to contribute to building Indonesia through technological innovation, was also attended by Director of Emerging Digital Technology, Dandy Yudha Feryawan, who served as one of the judges for the Final Demo Day.
