“Our target is not merely to introduce Indonesian creative products to global markets, but to ensure that these products generate sustainable export transactions. Through the ASIK program and participation in Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, we are taking a strategic step to strengthen export readiness, open access to international buyers, and encourage local brands to grow into global players,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya on Tuesday (13/10).

Held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Tangerang, TEI 2026 marks its 41st edition and takes place from October 14–18, 2026. The Ministry of Creative Economy’s participation is part of its collaboration with the Ministry of Trade to expand international market access for Indonesian creative products.

Based on Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data processed by the Ministry of Creative Economy for the January–April 2026 period, the United States was Indonesia’s leading export destination for creative economy products, with a total value of US$3.31 billion. These exports were dominated by the fashion subsector, valued at US$2.80 billion, followed by crafts at US$480 million and culinary products at US$15.55 million.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy’s participation in Trade Expo Indonesia reflects the government’s concrete commitment to bringing Indonesian creative economy products closer to global markets. We want to ensure that Indonesia’s creativity and cultural richness can be translated into economic value by expanding market access, strengthening business networks, and creating export opportunities,” said Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity Yuke Sri Rahayu.

In addition to fashion and crafts, the culinary subsector also has significant potential to enter international markets. According to Ministry of Trade data, the value of Indonesian food product exports to global markets reached approximately US$59.04 billion in 2025. This potential is supported by the richness of local raw materials, spices, diverse flavors, and the cultural stories of the Indonesian archipelago that distinguish the country’s culinary products.

The United States is Indonesia’s second-largest export market for food products after China. In 2025, Indonesian food exports to the US reached US$5.97 billion, an increase of 14.06 percent from US$5.23 billion in 2024. This figure accounted for approximately 10.1 percent of Indonesia’s total food exports worldwide.

At TEI 2026, the Ministry of Creative Economy is presenting three booths featuring 46 local brands from the crafts, culinary, and fashion subsectors. The 18 participating crafts brands are Kampung Kaleng, M.A.R.S Genuine Leather, Ketak Nusantara, Kampoeng Anyaman, Passion of Art Indonesia (POAI), Aulian Toys, Danrizco, Decak Handmade, Kotak Hias, Kriyamic, Lusee, Kriya Kite Indonesia, Djoen Leather, Boolet, Cabaco Leatherworks, Kalanata, Ride One Gallery, and Foxandbunny.

The culinary subsector is represented by 16 brands: Pigela Chips, KINGKAF, Madu NP, Moonbitz Inovasi Adikarya, Mustofaibuemi, L'GRAZ, Haviera Foodies, Munch Mingle, Ramantha Kitchen, Qisbelin, Rendang Jambi by Cahaya Minang, Natural Bali Kulkul, Sambal Sijago, Pempek Cek Molek, Restu Mande, and Wizz dan Pondok Cabe.

Meanwhile, the 12 participating fashion brands are MYCL, Wearlori, Kayana By Tyaoza, BIGBOYLOOKSGOOD, SHAZA By Adelina, KAYO, Batik dan Tenun Rolla, CV Kupu Sutera, Wening’s Line, Bina Bordir, Twiko, and Northy.

All participating brands have received support through the Indonesian Creative Export Acceleration (ASIK) program. The crafts and culinary brands come from ASIK Batch 2 and Batch 3, while the fashion brands are supported under ASIK Batch 1 and Batch 2. The program is one of the Ministry of Creative Economy’s initiatives to strengthen export readiness, expand business networks, and open access to international buyers.

The Ministry of Creative Economy’s presence at TEI 2026 also strengthens interministerial and interagency collaboration in developing the national export ecosystem. Integrated support is essential to help creative economy practitioners build business capacity, improve product quality and packaging, meet market standards, and gain access to promotion, financing, and distribution networks.

Through TEI 2026, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that more local brands will be able to transform their creative potential into economic value, expand their market reach, and establish sustainable export transactions.
