The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, attends the "Sumedang Go Digital" program held at the Sumedang Creative Center (SCC) in Sumedang Regency, West Java, on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).
“One of the characteristics of a region with strong creative economy potential is having deep cultural and historical roots. When culture becomes the foundation and is combined with downstream innovation, technology, and creativity, that is where the creative economy emerges. We believe Sumedang has tremendous potential to nurture community-based creative talent through its unique strengths,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya at the SCC in Sumedang Regency on Tuesday (August 4).
The Minister emphasized that digital transformation must be utilized as an instrument to enhance human resource quality, expand market access, and strengthen regional creative ecosystems. According to him, digitalization is not merely about marketing products through social media or e-commerce platforms, but also about driving innovation, strengthening collaboration, protecting intellectual property, and optimizing the use of technology across all 21 creative economy subsectors.
“West Java is one of the priority provinces for strategic creative economy development. The Sumedang Regional Government has tremendous potential, supported by the enthusiasm and strong spirit of creative economy practitioners who have been here since early this morning and share the determination to move forward together. Therefore, the Ministry of Creative Economy will continue to collaborate so that Sumedang's creative economy not only grows nationally but also gains global recognition,” the Minister said.
