WCCE 2026 Strengthens Global Collaboration and Opens New Opportunities for Indonesia’s Creative Economy

Jakarta, October 9, 2026 – Indonesia will once again serve as a meeting ground for global creative economy leaders, policymakers, industry players, creators, communities, academicians, investors, and stakeholders through the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026, which will take place on October 21–23, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel in Jakarta.

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, says that the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026 serves as a strategic opportunity for Indonesia to strengthen the role of the creative economy in global development. The conference will take place on October 21–23, 2026, in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/10/2026).

With the theme “Inclusively Creative: Collective Continuity,” WCCE 2026 fosters collaboration to build a creative economy that is inclusive, sustainable, and capable of responding to global dynamics.

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated that WCCE 2026 represents a strategic opportunity for Indonesia to strengthen the role of the creative economy in the global development agenda.

“WCCE 2026 serves as a pivotal moment for Indonesia to elevate the creative economy to a more strategic level within the global development agenda. One of its key outcomes is the Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy, which is expected to serve as a foundation for strengthening the creative economy’s position in the global development agenda beyond 2030, while also drawing global attention to the creative economy’s contributions to economic and social development,” the Minister of Creative Economy said.

Through the Jakarta Vision on the Creative Economy, WCCE 2026 is driving the formulation of a shared vision to strengthen the role of the creative economy in the future development agenda. This document is expected to serve as one of the foundations for discussions on a United Nations (UN) resolution regarding the creative economy.

Since its inception by Indonesia in 2018, WCCE has evolved into a global platform that brings together various elements of the creative economy ecosystem.

“WCCE has evolved into a global platform to bring together governments, industry, academicians, creators, entrepreneurs, and various stakeholders in addressing the challenges and opportunities of the creative economy. It is this spirit of collaboration that we continue to strengthen through WCCE 2026,” the Minister of Creative Economy stated.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, stated that WCCE 2026 is designed not only as a space for dialogue but also to expand networks and open up concrete collaboration opportunities between Indonesian creative economy players and global partners.

“The creative economy does not thrive in isolation. We need collaboration among the government, businesses, creators, communities, academicians, investors, and international partners to open access to markets, investment, technology, and intellectual property development. Therefore, we urge WCCE 2026 to go beyond mere dialogue and establish connections and collaborations that deliver tangible benefits for the creative economy ecosystem,” the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy stated.

In addition to the main conference, Creativillage will take place October 21–25, 2026, in the SCBD area as a creative experience space open to the public.

The Creativillage series includes “Soul of Indonesia” at Akasta SCBD on October 21, “Village One” at Ashta District 8 and “Village Two” at MGP Space, SCBD Park from October 21–25, as well as “WCCE Weekland” at SCBD Park on October 24–25, 2026.

Through WCCE 2026, Indonesia will not only host a global creative economy forum but also provide a meeting ground where local creativity meets global opportunities. The series of conferences, business matchmaking sessions, and Creativillage are expected to strengthen connections while opening up opportunities for cooperation, investment, business development, intellectual property protection, and market expansion for Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem.

WCCE 2026 serves as a catalyst to bring ideas together with action, creativity with opportunity, and Indonesia with the world.
