WCCE 2026 Strengthens Indonesia's Global Creative Economy Leadership

Jakarta, October 15, 2026 – Six days left towards the opening of World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026, Indonesia is ready to be the host of global dialogue regarding the future of the creative economy. This international conference that will be held on 21–23 October 2026 at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, will be a momentum to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the creative global economy.

Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, attends a press conference on the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026 at the Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI) office, Jakarta, Thursday (15/10/2026).

This was stated by the Minister of Creative Economy/Head of Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, in the WCCE 2026 press conference at the Badan Komunikasi Pemerintah (Government Communications Agency of the Republic of Indonesia/Bakom) RI’s office, Jakarta, Thursday (10/5).

“To Indonesia, WCCE is not merely an international forum, but a strategic chance to bring our creative potential to the global stage. The staging of WCCE serves as a solid proof of Presidential Regulation No. 37 of 2026 regarding the Rencana Induk Ekonomi Kreatif (Master Plan on the Creative Economy/RINDEKRAF) 2026–2045 and the Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional (National Medium-Term Development Plan /RPJMN) 2025–2029 to put creative economy as the main pillar of national growth,” Teuku Riefky stated.

Under the theme “Inclusively Creative: Collective Continuity,” WCCE 2026 prioritizes three main principles, which are inclusivity, collaboration, and continuation. Three of them serve as a foundation to build a creative economy ecosystem that creates dialogue spaces for creative economy practitioners from various backgrounds and nations, and bring them a sustainable positive impact.

One of the strategic agendas of this conference is the preparation of the Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy, a document that is expected to be a step stone for Resolusi Ekonomi Kreatif (Creative Economy Resolution) to climb at United Nations and strengthen the position of economy creative sector in global development post-Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), that will end in 2030.

“This vision is more than a declaration, it is a solid step stone for us to propose a Creative Economy Resolution at the United Nations and push this sector into the global development agenda. At the same time, we are committed to strengthening the creative economy ecosystem network, and broadening market access so that locals could sense the impact,” the Minister of Creative Economy added.
