Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that WCCE 2026 represents a strategic opportunity to reinforce Indonesia’s position as a global leader in the creative economy while introducing Jakarta as a global city ahead of its 500th anniversary in 2027.

“Through WCCE 2026, we aim to strengthen international collaboration while formulating the Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy as a new framework to ensure the creative economy becomes part of the global development agenda beyond the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which conclude in 2030,” the Minister said during a meeting with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (July 9).

“We look forward to establishing extensive collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government, considering that WCCE has become one of Indonesia’s flagship IP events. Sustainable collaboration will generate long-term economic benefits while strengthening Indonesia’s position as a global center for creativity,” the Minister added.

Governor Pramono Anung expressed the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting WCCE 2026. He noted that the creative economy has become a key engine of growth for cities around the world, making WCCE 2026 an important platform to reinforce Jakarta’s global city status.
