YE Live in Jakarta 2026 Concert Provides a Platform for Indonesia’s Creative Economy to Showcase Its Capabilities on the Global Stage

Jakarta, September 14, 2026 – International concerts can create opportunities while generating long-term positive impacts for Indonesia’s national creative economy. These impacts are realized through the involvement of various creative economy players, ranging from workers, vendors, creators, designers, and musicians to other creative talents.

Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, receives an audience with Raw Vision Collective (RVC) to discuss the organization of YE Live in Jakarta 2026, which will be held on October 24, 2026, at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium. The audience took place at Marqen Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (14/9/20

This was conveyed during a meeting between Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, and Raw Vision Collective (RVC) to discuss the organization of YE Live in Jakarta 2026, which will be held on October 24, 2026, at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy wants to see international concerts not merely as performances, but as part of the upskilling process for the creative economy ecosystem. Those involved are not only working on a production, but also gaining experience with international standards. This is where capacity building, professionalism, and the competitiveness of creative workers can be strengthened, enabling them to handle globally scaled concerts in the future,” said the Minister of Creative Economy at Marqen Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (14/9).

The first-ever concert by Kanye West, or YE as he is commonly known, in Indonesia marks an important momentum for strengthening the creative economy ecosystem, while demonstrating the growing confidence of the global entertainment industry in Indonesia as a destination for international-scale performances.

The Minister of Creative Economy emphasized that the scale of the performance must go hand in hand with efforts to strengthen local content. The Ministry of Creative Economy sees opportunities to facilitate collaborations that maintain the artistic quality of the performance while providing space for Indonesian works and creativity to gain recognition among global creative talent and industry networks.

“This is a golden moment for creative economy players and creative entrepreneurs to level up. The spirit should not only reach those attending the concert, but also extend beyond the stadium. This is where storytelling and collaboration become important to inspire all parties. Opportunity is there! It depends on how we see and utilize our readiness to turn this moment into a global stage,” added the Minister of Creative Economy.

Meanwhile, Marketing & Communications Lead of Raw Vision Collective, Karen Tjahja, said that the first-ever performance in Indonesia, featuring a new concept, has attracted strong enthusiasm from international fans.

“This is YE’s first performance in Indonesia, making Jakarta the only city in Southeast Asia and Oceania confirmed for YE’s tour this year. The high level of interest in the concert can also be seen from audiences coming from various countries, including Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. We want to deliver a different performance experience through the Globe Stage, a 360-degree stage concept that places the audience at the center of the concert experience and allows them to enjoy the performance from various angles,” said Karen.

She also expressed hope that the Ministry of Creative Economy’s support for the performance would provide an opportunity to explore and gain a closer understanding of Indonesia’s creative economy potential and open opportunities for future collaboration with Indonesian creative economy players, thereby generating long-term value for Indonesia’s creative ecosystem.

From the Ministry of Creative Economy, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya was accompanied by Deputy for Media Creativity, Cecep Rukendi; Special Staff to the Minister for Strategic and Interinstitutional Affairs, Rian Syaf; and Head of Bureau for Communication, Kiagoos Irvan Faisal.
