Jakarta, 17 August 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya encouraged all civil servants within the Ministry of Creative Economy to transform independence into innovation and creativity that directly contribute to public welfare. This message was delivered during the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony held at the Ministry’s Film Building in Jakarta on Sunday, 17 August 2025.

“The spirit of independence must be manifested through real work. For us at the Ministry of Creative Economy, this is reflected in innovation, creativity, and contributions that directly impact society and the world. This is how we fill the meaning of independence in today’s era,” said the Minister of Creative Economy in his ceremonial remarks.
The Minister of Creative Economy served as the Inspector of Ceremony, emphasizing that this year’s Independence Day theme, “United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia,” aligns with the mission of the creative economy sector.
According to the Minister of Creative Economy, the creative economy stems from the nation’s rich cultural diversity, which strengthens Indonesia’s sovereignty on the global stage while generating opportunities for public prosperity.

In addition to the raising of the national flag and the reading of the proclamation text, the ceremony was enlivened by Ekraf Voice, which performed patriotic songs. The performance added solemnity to the event while reflecting the spirit of unity and creativity embodied by Indonesia’s creative economy practitioners.
On this occasion, the Minister of Creative Economy also presented the Satyalancana Karya Satya awards to 26 civil servants for 10, 20, and 30 years of service. The awards were given as recognition of their dedication and contribution to the development of Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem.

“These awards are not only a form of respect but also a reminder that the hard work and dedication of civil servants are part of how we fill independence. We are all the frontline forces advancing a globally competitive Indonesian creative economy,” he added.

The ceremony was attended by all echelon I and II officials as well as ministry staff. After the ceremony, the Minister took group photos with the participants, many of whom were dressed in traditional Indonesian attire, further highlighting the richness of the nation’s cultural heritage.
