Bandung, June 7, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, encouraged fragrance industry players to continue developing the potential of regional creative economies. She also expressed her appreciation for the Jagat Aroma Bandung 2025 event as a potential platform for such development.

"We need to harness creativity and technology to unlock value for many people, not just a few, in this rapidly developing aroma industry," said Deputy Minister Irene during her speech at the event held at Graha Manggala Siliwangi, Bandung, on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky stated that the Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to implementing programs that directly support players in the fragrance industry. These include cross-sectoral promotional initiatives, particularly involving communities and the fashion ecosystem, which are closely linked with the aroma industry.
Deputy Minister Irene further explained that developing the creative economy can enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness on the global stage and showcase the nation's cultural richness through authentic Indonesian fragrances. In turn, the national economy can be improved through a sustainable fragrance industry, which in turn will generate quality job opportunities and improve public welfare.
“The aroma industry is believed to be a new driver of Indonesia’s economic growth by strengthening a sustainable and innovative creative economy ecosystem, positioning it as 'The New Engine of Growth’,” added Deputy Minister Irene.
At the event, the Ministry also supported three fragrance brands from Aceh — Minyeuk Pret, Neelam, and Tarina — to participate by providing space at the Ministry of Creative Economy booth. These brands highlighted the uniqueness and strength of Acehnese aromas, utilizing local spices and flowers, paired with storytelling elements and natural formulations in their products.

Jagat Aroma 2025 marked a significant success, attracting more than 10,000 visitors and recording transactions exceeding IDR 2.5 billion across over 80 participating local brands. The Ministry is committed to continuing to advance the fragrance industry through strategic programs aimed at enhancing the creative sector’s contribution to the nationalGross Domestic Product (GDP).
Thus, Jagat Aroma 2025 has emerged as a new symbol of Indonesia’s creative economic power, generating fresh opportunities, including job opportunities, through the development of the fragrance industry.
