During the meeting, Regent Yusuf expressed Enrekang Regency’s readiness to position the creative economy sector as a main source of regional revenue based on local potential. The central government, through the Ministry of Creative Economy, is committed to strengthening regional creative economies through financing schemes and affirmative policies that will support local governments in becoming primary sources of high value-added creative works, while also driving inclusive national economic growth.

Enrekang Regency covers an area of 1,786.01 square kilometers, or approximately 2.83 percent of the total area of South Sulawesi Province. Creative economy development in the region is supported by several leading subsectors, including locally based culinary products, crafts, fashion, as well as arts and culture rooted in local wisdom.
